Matt Barkley not very impressive

I watched the Mater Dei vs Carson game with Matt Barkley USC wests highly rated QB. Yes he threw six TDs but it was against a bad defense and he also threw 4 interceptions. I am not sure how they can rate him as a five star on Rivals but keep AJ as a four star.

Also keep in mind that three of those touchdowns came in overtime when high school teams start from the 10 yard line.

I don't doubt that the kid is talented...you can see the arm strength. However, I was not impressed with his decision making ability. To be the highest rated player in America, I didn't expect him to make as many bad throws as he did over the course of that game.

And did anybody see how BAD the Carson special teams were???? Wow!

I agree. Barkley didn't impress me that much, either. I guess the experts are rating him on potential? He likely will be a good college quarterback; I just didn't see the superman like QB that everyone says he is, last night.

I agree. To be the top rated player in the entire country he should be a Tim Tebow or Vince Young. Barkley is neither.
