While running errands today in Columbus, Mississippi....I happened upon some MSU fans (one was an MSU Booster) at the courthouse who know I'm a Crimson Tide fan. First they wanted to pour salt in my wounds....then they commenced attempts to convince me that "they" scored 55 points this past weekend and felt sure "they" could score a TD against the Crimson Tide (seeing as how AL was "unable" to score a TD against LSU) and would ultimately defeat the "red elephant". I couldn't laugh in their face, wouldn't argue because it's beneath me to do so, but I managed a "we'll see....let the athletes play it on the field".

Can you really believe their fans think because MSU scored 55 points against TN Martin they can run the score up to defeat Alabama? This is just hysterical to me. These little sister college teams kill me with their bravado....but I guess the last thing to go is hope.

Re: MSU fan propoganda

They don't believe it, they just needed to say something to feel better today. Just wait till Dan Mullen leaves and see how "chipper" they are:wink:

Re: MSU fan propoganda

Come on Happy. How long have you lived in the area? I lived in Aberdeen for 5 years and know they'll say anything that makes them feel warm and fuzzy.

Re: MSU fan propoganda

In a way, MSU fans are kind of like barners. They have nothing good of their own to be happy about, so they choose instead to revel in the misfortunes of others. A very sad bunch over there, to say the least.

I'm actually a little surprised they aren't looking forward to making hash of Ole Miss since that's the last game they have a shot at winning.

I grew up 30 miles from you across the state line. M$U fans were the most annoying because they talk trash more than any other fans of SEC schools, yet their football program never backed up the talk. As a student at UA when Coach Stallings was our coach, I saw a car driving on campus the week before a football game against M$U with the 6-3 score from 1980.

MSU is one of the most disappointing teams this year. I know they lost with DC who did a wonderful job for them, but they shouldn't have dropped off so much

The MSU fans 'Are whistling past the grave yard...'
On second thought I'd like to believe they really think that...
That would make our victory sweeter.

Mississippi State's entire season has been an open wound . RTR.

They were chest thumping going in to the game in 2009. We were undefeated and number 2 in the nation and en route to the BCS Title and they had a record of 4-5, yet they were a confident bunch. Go figure. They always seem to talk the most smack when they are down. I guess they forget that we owned them even in the Shula years!

I wouldn't offend you for anything in this world, but I gotta ask or bust: I noticed your avatar....are you sure you're not the phantom of the wild eyed opera pianist in the ESPN chronicle about the Iron Bowl?:)
