And just because Cyrus signed with Bama or Trent had on a suit and ate dinner near a booster doesn't major infraction make. These are all far fetched allegations that hack journalist make to make names for themselves. They don't have to prove it. Charles Robinson is a different story. There isn't much anyone can say. Miami is about to feel the wrath or the NCAA is a joke. I tell you one thing, universities should really start worrying if Robinson starts sniffing around your program.

if you listen, he usually makes well-thought points. Now, "shaking in ther shoes" may be dramatic (he's a radio host, afterall), but there is a legitimate point to be made that there should at least be an aura of concern coming from Tuscaloosa. Not that there is anything, but you can't be too careful.
What would you have UA do? Ignore it? Or be concerned and investigate it?
Exactly. It gives the NCAA a reason to make a trip to Tuscaloosa, and that is one thing none of us wants. If the NCAA digs deep enough, they can find something ANYWHERE. I'd prefer them to stay away from Tuscaloosa.
Oh I definitely would want them (UA) to be concerned, but did you hear the entire context of what he was saying? Cowherd was spouting off about how every major conference had a team that was being investigated, except for the SEC. He insinuated that the SEC was not a clean conference (which is obviously true), and sounded to me like he was trying to lump Bama right in there with these other scandals.
Big difference in being concerned and 'shaking in my shoes'. I'm 'concerned' about a great many things, but I see no reason to start panicking until we know all of the facts. Rest assured that CNS and UA compliance know a lot more about these two coaches than we do, and I'm sure they will take whatever action, if any, is necessary.

A) There is NEVER any means of accurately measuring the ncaa's response be it slap on the wrist for murder or 30 years hard labor for jay walking.
B) The ncaa goes after and gets who they want to, no matter what. They are investigator, judge, jury, and jailer. Which reminds me of another saying, 'nothing corrupts like power, and absolute power corrupts absolutely'.
C) Never ever forget points A or B because the ncaa is less reliable than a 35 year old Pinto in a rear-end collision.
No matter how 'dazzling' this case may be it still not much worse than what's gone on in several Big10/12 basketball programs involving head coach's involved in academic fraud, gifts of cash/vehicles, etc. It only slightly eclipses cases such as Tressel knowingly playing ineligable players. I agree with those who assert coaches Pannunzio and Stoutland must go. No problem if the exit is via a severance package... but they most go. Alabama cannot afford to be anywhere near the radioactive fallout from Miami.

Fanuzzi, if you don't remember, switched his commitment to UA from Miami at the same time Robert Marve switched his commitment from UA to Miami. The old QB switcherooni. Being as though the U was paying everybody at the time, and Marve's name has surfaced as part of this, I attempted a joke by saying I hope we didn't overpay to get Fanuzzi, because if he was a U commit at the time you had to figure he was getting paid too. And he turned out to not be the best QB we've ever had.
