Re: New Next Food Network Star

No early picks for me without seeing at least one episode but Adrien appears to be a lot like me, just not as good looking. ;)

Can't wait to watch and I prefer competitions where the general public can't bastardize the outcome.

Re: New Next Food Network Star

June 13 begins "Top Chef - Miami" with a good looking cast of wannabes. All seem to have respectable credentials. LINK

June 6 will be "Top Chef All-Stars with the top four from season one and two going heads up. That should be a great competition.

Bobby Flay makes my skin crawl. Although, I can watch when he is on Iron Chef.
i admit, bobby leaves something to be desired in the arrogance department, but the dude can cook. and he tends to cook foods that interest me.

I usually stick towards Giada & Sandra Lee, though.
funny stuff. giada's show is alright (and yes she's hot), but i can't stand the way she insists on annunciating all of her italian vocabulary words (ok she's really hot). and sandra lee's show does nothing for me.....well almost nothing.

Yeah, she (Lee) is the only reason to watch. I do enjoy her different cocktails at the end of each show. She's quite the lush. :biggrin2:

I love to watch Bobby Flay getting his butt kicked on a throwdown or Iron Chef America. the worst beating I saw him take was when he went against Ming Tsai in a duck battle. Ming took Bobby to school.

Bobby's arrogance is part of his NY upbringing. Typical personality for Yorkers. I guess I can say that since New Yorkers think southerners are all barefooted hicks.

As for Bobby's food. Take away his peppers and ears of corn and the boy is lost. I'm sorry but all his dishes have the same ingredients in them and his tamales are ugly.

I love Giada, I finally got a signed cookbook from her. I'm an older guy and find Sarah Moulton attractive and I love her show. I have several Rachel Ray signed cookbooks and think she is cute but not voluptuous, what is she about an A cup? I like her approach to cooking but some of her key words are getting like Emeral's and wearing on my nerves.

Sandra Lee is OK but I don't watch the clock waiting for her show. I miss most of them but I buy into her philosophy of semi-homemade.

Re: New Next Food Network Star

of course season 1 won. thought it was funny that Marcel and Stephen were the captains.....
And Elan sabotaged Marcel's bowl of mango. Marcel had to do a foam. What's with all the foams? I have been to some upscale restaurants and I don't remember my food being covered in foams or bubble baths.

I think Season 1 had better Chefs. Season 2 had Elise (SP?) who did the scallop dish and that was about it really. All 4 of Season 1 are excellent chefs so there wasn't a lot suspense in my opinion. I can't believe those were the best dishes they could come up with using Kobe beef though! :conf2:
