There is probably a good reason why Norris chose the home of Bear Bryant. From what I understand, the Bear is the only known man to have stopped a Norris roundhouse and lived to tell the tale.

According to legend, Norris was intrigued by the Bear’s story of having beaten a Bear in a wrestling match and his reputation of being a hard, grizzled man. Norris challenged the Bear, and after losing the bet was forced to shave his beard. The legend goes on to say that a blade of adamantium, forged in the lava of Vesuvius, had to be used to complete the task.
