New healthcare thread...

New one for me today. About 2 weeks ago I had my lower left furthest back molar extracted. It started out a year ago as a root canal. My first ever. What (I guess) no one knew is that tooth was fractured. So for the past year.....I've had this uneasy feeling on that tooth - at times a bit painful, but mostly something just didn't feel right.

Things came to a head 2 weeks ago when I had finally had enough and had my dentist do the extraction. This, after they figured out it was fractured.

OK whatever. At 70 years of age, losing one of your teeth isn't the end of the world, considering what others have gone through at this age!

The problem is.....after a couple days I couldn't open my mouth as far as normal without pain on that left side.

Turns out, according to my dentist today, I have a condition called "Trismus".

Supposed to go away after a short period of time - but meanwhile I'm taking Tramadol and am on soft food diet (again).

Sorry to see this, @Bazza . Hope you get some relief soon!

Tennessee Governor signs law allowing doctors to deny any medical care that conflicts with their "conscience."

SB 955 applies to all medical workers—including doctors, nurses, pharmacists & insurance. Refusal can be based solely on personal morals, ethics, or religious beliefs.

The Republican bill sponsor said the law protects healthcare providers from "moral injury."

Many Tennessee doctors argue the measure goes against the Hippocratic Oath—which requires doctors to prioritize treating patient's actual physical injuries.

V.A. Mental Health Care Staff, Crowded into Federal Buildings, Raise Patient Privacy Alarms

Clinicians at the Department of Veterans Affairs say the president’s return-to-office order is forcing many of them to work from makeshift spaces where sensitive conversations can be overheard.

Dems should be screaming about this at the top of their lungs. So they'll just write a strongly worded letter to Trump.

Just 13 days after @HHSgov + @US_FDA announced plans to phase out petroleum-based synthetic dyes from the nation’s food supply, Tyson Foods today reported it will eliminate these dyes by the end of May. I look forward to seeing more companies follow suit and put the health of Americans first. Together, we will Make America Healthy Again.
