I read on another board that Star is helping with recruiting. His statements makes me think he will be a great leader for our team. Roll Tide Roll!!

Mark it down he will play next year!!

The coaches may put in a few plays for SJ, for a change of pace to confuse the defenses but he won't be able to grasp the entire offensive package next year. Fannuzi is also athletic, a good runner and will be more familiar with the offense......I expect SJ to RS.

I doubt he RS if only because of AJ McCarrons. If he doesn't redshirt and ultimately starts for 4 or 3 years, then AJ can redshirt and have 2 years after

I don't think Saban cares much about redshirting skill players. I think he believes its more important to get the best guys on the field gaining experience because skill players can be lost to injury in the blink of an eyelash. I also believe he knows he can keep the cupboards stocked with competitive, capable players.

He did keep McElroy and Fanuzzi off the field this year, but I think that was a function of consistency rather than talent level. If talented kids come in and prove they can learn the system and execute consistantly, I think QBs could play early under Saban. I think Saban proved this with Russell at LSU, who started for majority of 3 seasons.

Yeah I read that Star article also. Guys, I cannot tell you how excited I am about that kid. He is a class act and loves Bama and he isn't even enrolled yet. It's good to know that Saban wants these kind of players. We will go a long way with players of his character.

Actually, Fanuzzi's redshirt was burned in the first game of the season. Perhaps the plan was to give him more playing time during the season, but then the quarterback situation changed?

Fanuzzi played against WCU but is almost a lock to receive a medical redshirt, no worries on that front.
