Closed his UofA career with a great Championship game. A tireless worker for years . . One of the "glue" types that hold teams together.

Thought he deserved major props for all he did for us, Here 'tis

THANK YOU Nick Gentry!

I can see CNS calling a few of his friends in the Pros and telling them this guy might be worth a look. I enjoyed watching his effort and he was a big contributor.

Great thought to post this.

There is that one play Monday, you know the one, which exemplifies Gentry. Firing off the line like a snake faster than anyone, getting about two yards into the backfield no higher than three feet off the ground and grabbing the correct set of ankles for a loss. Man we're going to miss this guy, his determination was a major ingredient into the heart of the defense. And to think there was a point in his career where the coaches were not sure about his future. He is the GMAC of 2011.

Don't know that he was a big star recruit, but he's a hard worker and fierce competitor. He had a fabulous BCS game. I loved it at the end of the game when he went around and must have high-fived and/or shook about a hundred fans' hands in the stands. I loved that!

He played like a man possessed. He's been an excellent, if unheralded, player for us. I wish him all the best in the future! RTR Mr. Gentry!

I always look for Nick to enter the game and watch him closely while he's in. He's a heck of a player and, as someone else mentioned, I hope Saban does give a shout out about him to some of his NFL friends. We're all gonna miss him.

Nick Gentry was a helluva football player for our beloved Crimson Tide. He was a great team player and fierce competitor. He always gave 100% and will be missed!! Thank you Nick Gentry! ROLL TIDE

Nick Gentry!Nick Gentry!Nick Gentry!

The young man clearly was in beast mode, but then again who on the defense wasn't in beast mode. Like so many, I will miss EVERY player who is leaving this team, regardless if it's graduation or going to the NFL.

Well done, fantastic career, Mr. Gentry.
