But if Buchner has continued to improve to the point of passing JM in terms of understanding and executing the offense, then the only way to find out is give him a shot. And finding out against USF is probably better than finding out next week against Ole Miss.

I guess I should have clarified “here” being “the coaching staff” in Tuscaloosa and not necessarily us “couch coaches” everywhere.

That hasn’t always been the case though has it? He’s always had a reputation for being tough to work for, but it didn’t stop quality coaches from jumping at the opportunity in the past. Even if they only stayed a few years, they were happy to have it on their resumes. I’m thinking of folks like Stoudtland (how good was he?).

A was really talking more about the coaching staff in terms of his development, not necessarily us fans. More in a response to the notion of urging him to switch positions or hit the portal.

I’m not disagreeing with you at all. It’s definitely happening. I’m just saying I don’t understand why things have changed, because the word about him being hard to work for isn’t new.

At least you are honest about that. I for one don't think it's time to give up on any of the qbs this fall. All three will take leap forward this fall and in offseason and in spring. Milroe is untapped talent that needs to be developed by the right coaches.. and I don't think Alabama is it for that.

I'd like to see Simpson get some meaningful playing time , milroe had his test on the biggest stage and showed me that he can't handle the pressure of a big game i.e. the head scratcher throws for interceptions.

I hear JM's sideline demeanor is excellent. Sorry to keep harping on this comment, but it has to be the weirdest and most frustrating thing I have ever heard Coach Saban say after a game.
