Yeah, so I know no one is excited. But lets give it some conversation and support the team. They are still in a postseason tournament. We are the #5 seed and I believe we have to travel to Massachusetts to play. After that if we pull out a win we have to play the winner of #1 seed West Virginia and #8 seed Delaware State. I don't expect much, and doubt the team will be very excited. But does anyone think we have a shot? Heres a link to the bracket for anyone interested.

Will be difficult to win at UMass, they'll be all excited & pumped, but reality is we need to play on the road in this tournament and not at home for it to be beneficial.

IMO, don't play Steele, nothing but more bad injuries could occur, but this should be Torrence's show to run this week and go as far as he can lead us, whether its one and done or longer.

I do not know how the team will respond...hopefully positively. If we beat UMass, I would pray for a monumental upset of WVa...but since that is unlikely to happen...look at the scenario if we win...

Bama travelling to WVa...think RR will show up for the game???

If the guys get motivated like the first 10-12 games, maybe we can make some noise...

Gotta think they'll fly into Hartford. I hope to find out when and be there to greet them! I'll be there for the game. I know it stinks we didn't get a NCAA bid, but for me this is awesome! I can see them play and hopefully ( Hey, "I'm just too full of Alabama", as Mr. Lewis said) they'll make it back to the Garden and I'll be there too. Roll Tide and we will try and get them over the hump up here!

I saw an interview on the news with Mark Gottfried concerning the bid. It seems he finally backed off the coachspeak saying Bama is a NCAA team. He basically said, "we have no complaints, we are just happy to still be playing, we have made our bed and we have to lie in it". I guess it looks bad at the end of the season if the coach does not still pretend to think there is an NCAA possibility

I guess there are good sides and bad sides to missing the NCAA and going to the NIT. The good news is that there are some good teams playing in the NIT, and that MAYBE, if Bama decides to get off it's duff and play, it could go fairly deep into the tourney.
The bad news is that I've spent the weekend watching some really great games in not only the SEC, but other conference tourneys as well. All of these teams put in a lot of effort. Every player on every team showed what they were made of, and every one of them surely make their schools and fans proud.
That brings about a sad realization and truth, that being that it's good and fitting that the Crimson Tide didn't make it to the NCAA. That truth reveals that this year, the Tide doesn't even belong in the same area code as the NCAA bound teams. JMHO

Dont know much about UMASS but even if Bama beats them they will most likely have West Virginia and we don't match up well with them. Either way it doesn't look good.
