5/16/2025

GAINESVILLE, FL –
No. 18 Alabama baseball leaned on starting pitcher Riley Quick in Friday's winning effort, as the Crimson Tide topped No. 23 Florida 9-6 at Condron Ballpark. The victory improves Alabama to 40-14 overall and 16-13 in Southeastern Conference action.

Quick (8-2) allowed a run in both the first and second innings but settled into the game as the night wore on. The redshirt sophomore proceeded to toss three consecutive scoreless innings between the third and fifth innings, totaling seven strikeouts over his 5.0 frames. Braylon Myers was the first man out of the bullpen and was brilliant, retiring all six men he faced, including three strikeouts. Carson Ozmerpitched the final two innings, though after a clean eighth, the graduate ran into some trouble in the ninth. Ozmer eventually allowed four runs in the final inning but found a way to pick up the final three outs to secure the win.

The Tide tallied just six hits, though Alabama took advantage of its opportunities. Brady Neal boosted the lineup with a three-run double in the fifth to punctuate the five-run inning. Richie Bonomolo Jr. finished 0-for-4 but was responsible for two RBI. Justin Lebron and Kade Snell were both 1-for-3 with an RBI apiece, while Will Hodo provided late insurance with a solo home run.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn

"Gritty win for the boys tonight. They just did what these kids do. It ain't always easy and it ain't always pretty but the boys know how to scrap, and they did that tonight. Proud of their effort and looking forward to finishing up the regular season strong tomorrow."
