I was just watching ESPN, and they were talking about the coaching vacancies at Alabama and Miami. The guy was talking specifically about Alabama, and said something to the effect of, "They have lost their last 3 games and will not be going to a bowl this year". Is it really a big possibility that we won't be bowling this year??

I heard the same thing, but I would be shocked if we dont cause we sell so many tickets to these lower tier bowls!
With the season that we just had we don't deserve to go to a bowl game. They see 6 wins and I see the 6 teams that we beat. So I with the murdering season will just stop with Auburn and look forward to next year.
True,, but the fact is BAMA is a bigger draw financially then say Kentucky or Vandy!
Yeah, I thought they had TV rights for that game. Heck they sell enough advertising for their embarrassing line up of wannabe bowls, you would think they would know how many games it takes to get into them.
Unless LSU gets screwed out of a BCS bid we are a lock b/c the SEC has 7 commitments besides the BCS games. I heard the same thing on Sports Center this morning and thought where did they get these idiots....
We will travel better than most teams also and if they are wanting to use the tv broadcast to improve there bowl they need a full stadium. God knows Miami cannot even half fill the orange bowl during the year, they sure will not travel. If a bowl has an option and could take a 6-6 Alabama team they will.:BigA:
Just start buying up all the Independence Bowl Tics.That is where we are going.LSU is a lock for a BCS game.At first I didnt think we would travel well this year because of the 6-6 finish but now with all of the coaching intrigue,I think we will do better than I thought.With a Big 12 opponent in Shreveport,there's reason enought to go support the Tide.

I just can not believe we are a lock for any Bowl. I do hope the seniors get to play one more game in crimson though.However,the reality is we might not get to go to even a 4th teir Bowl game with a 6-6 record. Yes,the rule states 7 win teams will be picked 1st.
If Iowa (2-6 in the Big Ten) 6-6 overall losing 5 of it's last 6 can go to the Alamo based solely on their travel history IMO. Then Alabama which will still travel better than than the Hawkeyes will go to a bowl. It is a money sport afterall, and Bama brings the most of it to the bowls.

That is most likely not possible based on the new NCAA rules. It would take at least 2 teams turning down a bid in order for that to even be possible.
