It’s escalated worse because of LANK and I guess to use a financial term ‘profit sharing’ and it being pretty well spread out across the roster in a way to ensure allegiance.

QB1 can’t hit the broadside of a barn but he’s a masterful politician behind the scenes and could rule an executive board room.

The whole thing is way worse than I even thought it was.

It’s very disappointing to me that CNS let it even begin in the 1st place.

It’s disappointing that he just slapped the hood of a lemon and passed it to CKD.

It’s disappointing that CKD let it get worse and to the point the locker room is fractured between guys who want to do things the right way for the right reasons and the guys who want what’s best for them and not the team.

Some decisions need to be made now and this power play dynamic has got to go.

I’ve gone from furious to almost numb about it all.

The whole thing is depressing.
100% agree. It's hard to watch when seeing behind the curtain. I hope it's resolved sooner rather than later. We can't let the program devolve more than it already has at this point.

Truly makes me wonder how deep it goes with players only wanting the best for themselves. Pray it isn't the majority..

What’s wild is this happened under Nick who I’d have never thought he would have never let this kind of thing happen. This all goes back to 2020 and an event that took place prior to the season, I knew then Nick had lost control, it’s just rearing its ugly head the last couple years.
What happened in 2020? Inquiring minds want to know!

I just watched the highlights of the USF '23 game....

I can't say Buckner played poorly; I also didn't notice any disrespectful behavior from our guys toward him.

Simpson did a good job on the go-ahead drive in Q3 ... and after the TD, *one lineman only* congratulated Ty. (That looked so awkward; Ty being ignored while the rest of the offense was celebrating....)

Simpson played a good game. (Thanks for suggesting I go back and look, tusks.) I didn't see him being skittish in the pocket like in the pre-season.

I am dismayed....

It's one of those things where you'd have to watch the whole game because the highlights don't always show the negative plays like sacks and free shots on the QB.

Buchner was getting hit so badly and so often that he developed the yips in real time for everyone to see.

His play devolved worse and worse. He actually not only quit football because of this game he quit the QB position. He went back to ND for lacrosse and then walked on this years FB team as a WR.

I feel really bad for that guy.

I feel bad for Ty too because he at least earned a start in the next game and never got it and has been relegated to QB2 ever since.

He may or may not work out but I'd at least like to see the kid get a fair shot.

We often don't consider what happened to Buchner. The kid wasn't as bad a QB as we saw vs USF last year. He looked so bad in that game you had to think how did he earn a scholarship offer. The kid walked into a mess.

Simpson....he's a gamer, he fought his butt off to get that win vs USF. Then we went right back to Milroe...because Milroe did what he was supposed to?

There is no way Simpson is so bad that we absolutely have to play Milroe.

Simpson deserves a chance....Milroe has had enough chances, he hasn't progressed and there are his other problems.

I greatly appreciate this information.

Push the button now. Make your communication extremely clear. Set your expectations and leave no doubt whatsoever as to what they are.

Players who cannot comply, sit on the bench. They can explain it to the NFL scouts themselves.

He is not going to lose half the team or even most of the team. Because the proof is in the results now. The status quo will not cut it.

It is a thousand wonders Ty has even stayed and not transferred out. Yet...
Pure speculation, but it maybe because CKD has begged him to stay and hang it out with him because next season and the year after the team is his. 🤷‍♂️

If I'm Ty, I'm actually smiling like a Chester cat right now because there's no doubt CKD and staff can't wait to get to next year and he's more than likely being looked at as "the guy". He's still young and has two years to start. I don't see him going anywhere.

This is where I currently stand. After seeing Milroe for the last three games, no way Simpson is so bad that it rationalizes keeping Milroe in after the crapshow he's put on for three straight games. NO.WAY!

I guess there is a shimmer of hope that the playoff is still attainable. I don't believe it will be even if we win out. But I would imagine that is going to be what sets things into motion. Once the playoff is off the table, there will be no more motivation to try to maintain the integrity of the ship (which actually has no integrity at all).

We are in such a tenuous and delicate position right now.

I mean me I would rip the bandaid off right now... 2025 starts right now this week vs Mizzou.

Bench the guys that are problems.... Next man up and let's finish this season as a team.

But since we're technically not eliminated from the playoffs yet I can see CKD not wanting to do it yet.

But if we pick up a 3rd loss we are done and it's likely we will pick up that 3rd loss.

So is it worth wasting more time not getting Ty valuable reps as a starter?

The best thing that happened to Mac Jones was unfortunately one of the worst things that happened to Tua (getting hurt).

But 2020 Mac Jones happened because of those 3-4 starts in 2019.

This is different of course not being an injury situation but QB1 is playing losing FB right now...why not give Ty a head start on 2025?

Heard from a T-town friend who has some connections that the staff is very, very high on TS.

It could explain why a change hasn't been made. They don't want to get him killed OR to hurt his confidence by throwing him behind an OL that prefers JM.

I know it sounds like an easy choice (and I'm in the same boat) but unless you dismiss the cancerous players, benching JM for TS might be more problematic than helpful.

CKD is literally between a rock and a hard place and there are no easy answers!

Not really, he can literally get rid of the cancers in one, five minute group meeting with them. "Your services are no longer needed here. Go clean out your locker. We wish you well."

If that means we need to lose 1 more game to set this in motion, dare I say, "So be it!"

This is an unprecedented time. If that's what it takes for the betterment of the program, I'm for the betterment of the program!

And look at it this way. There is no way this team, with the problem-makers we have, is going to pull it together and make a run at the playoff/NC. They have shown they can win a game here and there (especially against Georgia) but winning out the rest of this regular season and then winning 4 games in a playoff is not attainable. That takes unselfishness, discipline and unity. The current team, as it it right now, doesn't have the male parts for that!

I don't disagree. Easy for you and me to say.

I wish he'd do it too and if it means not winning another game I'd be in support of that.

But it's probably not that clear-cut for CKD.

Something we haven't considered, but is some members of the staff part of the problem too?

This is just SO DISAPPOINTING!
There was a time in my life that I couldn't handle information like this. Now it is liberating and refreshing. I know what you are saying is that it is disappointing things got to this state, and I agree. But since it did, light is the best disinfectant. Knowing what the problem is is half the battle.

Now we just have to do something about it. It's not difficult to me. The whole team knows what the deal is. None of this is a secret to them. Have a meeting. Let the problem guys know, hey guys we've done it your way and your way is a losing way. We are not doing things your way anymore, because we are winners. If you don't want to get on board with that, fine. There's the door.

That's what I said last night.

I'm not happy it's happening, but I am happy it's being exposed. And I think CKD is the kind of man who will make it right. But we've got to remember he's got to answer for what he does and so it might not be on our time-table. As JessN hinted, it may be a behind-the-scenes off-season reset.

Bad apples will ruin the bushel, if not removed. Once removed there may be salvageable usable portions left. A delicate knife is called for.
