Wish I went to Tuscaloosa for college
Sadly, living here 9 hours away from Tuscaloosa here out in the suburbs of St. Louis area is where I live. To my amazement, I've noticed that there are quite severals fans on this website that live around St. Louis area. Would love to make new friends with those Bama fans here in my area. My dad and I could sure use more company to make us feel like we are in Tuscaloosa even though we have no connection to the University of Alabama, just DIE HARD Bama fans is what we are!

Hit me up....I live out in St. Peters.

Roll Tide Roll from Missouri!!!

I live down 370 from you in New Town. I saw us blow it at Ark. and hang on vs. Ole Miss last year. Although I'll miss Coach Ball (he's a helluva guy - - went to Webster Groves where I teach and coach), I'm looking more forward to this season more than any other.

about making your wife a bama fan . . . I took her to to the night game vs. OU in 03'. Gameday was in town and she made signs for Herbstriet and actually got him to smile and waive at her. She'd leave me in an instant for him. My advice - - - take her to a Gameday night game. Let her have some cocktails on the strip, some ribs or one of those cheap and tasty bbq sandwiches they sell next to the Houndstooth, and let southern hospitality take over. Great seats don't hurt either.

Worked for me. She let me stay up to the wee hours sweating out the coach Rod ordeal. She is as crazy a Cards fan as I am Bama. We have a mutual understanding and appreciation of each others obsession.

you live like no more than 5 miles away from me as i live a mile away from mid rivers mall. i thought about living up in new town, but it was out of the price range as i just recently got married this past june. i went to four games last year: the Arkansas game (still kills me), Hawaii, Tennessee and Auburn game. which games you planning on going to this year?

i'm planning on taking my wife to a game at T-town this year. don't know if i can do a Gameday game, but we'll see. like you, my wife is a teacher as well. teaches math at fort zumwalt west high. she loves Cardinals baseball, but doesn't understand football worth crap..haha. she thinks it's so ridculous that i'm obessed with alabama football.

Playball, I think we exchanged messages before about Alabama football in the St. Louis area. At that time we had just moved to St. Louis and were in temporary housing. We are now mostly settled in in our house in Glendale.

Some members of the Kansas City Alumni Club I met at the Arkansas game encouraged me to try and start an alumni club in St. Louis. I haven't looked into it, but would like to see if there are enough supporters to try it. If nothing else, meeting up with some Alabama fans would be nice. Maybe we can find some local establishment that would be willing to show Alabama football games for a group. You or any STL area fans feel free to PM me and I'll send you my contact info.

CapitalTider: Yeah, I remember exchanging notes with you in the past. Don't know how we lost touch of each other. Glad to get back with you. Anyway, I do know of Bama fans hitting into Hotshots down at Fenton as I've been there a few times with my dad this past fall to watch the games. It's not an alumni club or anything that they have at the Hotshots. The reason it is at Hotshots at Fenton is because just about all of them work at Chrysler's plant as they were transferred to St. Louis from Birmingham.

I don't have any connection to Alabama, and neither does my dad as we are huge fans. But, my brother just may be attending college down at Tuscaloosa this upcoming fall. He totally fell in love with it when we bought him last year for the Hawaii game.

Shoot me a line to my email address: playball31580@yahoo.com so that way we don't lose touch this time around. Roll Tide Roll!

I recently moved from Fenton to Jacksonville, FL., and I can second the recommendation for visiting Hotshots. I checked it out last year and this year for the Tennessee game, and it was packed with this group of Chrysler Tide fans. As you pointed out, they were all faced with losing their tenure when the Alabama plant closed, so about 300 of them moved to Missouri.

I don't know if I could hang out there every weekend, but if it is a big game weekend (Tennessee or Auburn), they organize well and make it a lot of fun.

Hello All,
My name is Sloan Smith and I am a huge Bama Fan stuck here in Missery....
Really not bad as I have been here 14 years. I have converted my wife and daughters into bama fans as well. We usually get to at least one or two game each year. I live in Hillsboro down in Jefferson County. Would love to meet some Tide fans. There used to be an Alumni club here but that was several years ago when we were first put on probation and most folks did not come out to watch the games. We used to go to Ozzie Smith's bar up near Page Ave. to watch the game. Let me know when all of you want to get together. What is the protcall for giving out informaiton?

Roll Tide,
Sloan

Hi all - The Kansas City area actually has a pretty active alumni association with a website and everything - we usually get together and go to the Arkansas game in Fayetteville. I went to law school in St. Louis and wife's family lives in Winghaven so I am over there often on weekends. Roll Tide.

My brother lives in Columbia

And he is a huge Bama fan, having been properly raised in Tuscaloosa. He is currently trying to get back down this way, so he might not be there long. He has a couple buddies there who are also Bama fans, so he has at least had someone to watch the games with.

Good luck with the St. Louis alumni group.

Playball, I live in Columbia, however, if all goes right and I can find a good job I will be moving back to GOD's Country sometime this year ( I'm originally from Tuscaloosa ). My daughter is a big Bama fan and my wife is slowly converting after being a FSU fan for so many years.

If you are ever in Columbia on a Saturday when Bama is playing on PPV or Gameplan then go to Truman's on West Broadway and look for Ken Horn and Pat Kennet and ask if you can watch the game with them.

Hey playball,

I live in St. Peters also, after moving up here from North Alabama to take a new job last year. Not much college football up here to speak of. I love the Cards, but miss the Tide. I miss going to the Bama games. Last year was the first year in 10 years that I didnt go to a game. Heck, I miss just being able to carry on an intellegable football conversation with the people I work with. I'm sure you know what I am talking about. Hopefully, I will have some time in the fall to make it back to Tuscaloosa this upcoming season. We should hook up. We are practicaly neighbors as I live only a few miles from Mid Rivers Mall also.

Dave
