I was out there for about an hour and took some pics. Go here to see those.
Just some personal obs during that hour....
QBs: nothing spectacular. All of them are still holding on to the ball too long. Honestly, not much separation in performance today between JPW and Guillon. Guillon probably looked as good as I've seen him.
JPW to Hall looks to be a popular option, especially on the slant.
RBs: we've got talent....and loads of it. Johns looks like he's gotten quicker. He's a competitor and it shows by the way he carries himself and is enthusiastic. Sharrief didn't look bad on some runs. Upchurch looked really good on a couple of runs. Glad to see that with his ankle recovery. Martin looked decent as well.
FBs: We know McClain and Castille are good. Huber and Hanrahan both look like they can block well, with Huber doing a little better while I was there. Didn't see much in the way of hands/running.
WRs: Hall and Brown are still 1 and 2, but Stover is definitely there. If the season started today, I believe that would be our 3 front runners in the rotation and would be pleased.
TEs: McCall is #1 ahead of Walker. Both looked good in blocking, didn't see much in receiving.
OL: just saw a little. First team OL looked good for early spring. Second, needing some improvement.
DL: looked solid all around. Gilberry and Greenwood should be studs for us. Knight's quick, but needs bulk. Middle guys looked good. Adams and Clark were first teamers today.
LB: Pleasantly surprised with Stamps and Anders today. Both could log some PT this year. First teamers today were Jones, Waldrop, and Simpson. Collins wasn't in crimson and frankly didn't notice him at all. Maybe he was. Hall looks great in run support/pass rush.
DBs: Didn't catch much of the corners, but Rogers and Mitchell looked decent. The safeties looked good from Dukes and Carter down to Burnthall and Johnson.
More later when we hear about all of practice....
