Your finger is closer to the pulse of this team than most, do they need a leader on the field? More coaching? Or worse, has the staff lost this team when it comes to motivation?
Loaded question for sure . But it is a combination of all of those Which ultimately points back to one person….saying that, there is no lack of motivation nor a lack of desire on this team. It is definitely lacking something, but I won’t question these guys’ hearts nor their desire.

It’s not the motivation or desire to win that I question, but there’s no doubt these guys eschew the coaching (if they get it), or the coaching is just not at the level it needs to be.

Complicated knot to unravel for sure.

Several things I've noticed about our defense in the past few years is the lack of turnovers generated, and sacks. I think last week against Miss St., Herbstreit brought up the graphic that we have the most NOT's in the past 6 or 7 seasons, but what he didn't further elaborate on was most of those NOT's came in seasons where our defense was ranked in the top 5. I don't think we've had a top 5 defense since 2017. Nobody fears our defense anymore, and that can be a combination of coaching, and personnel, coupled with the NIL and transfer portal era, which I believe can be more a detriment than a bonus

Listen, I know we may not want to have this conversation, but then again after what we've witnessed the past 2 years it's time. I'm hoping CNS makes changes across the board but here's some names I can come up with: (don't shoot, I'm just throwing out names)

Offensive Coordinator
Jeff Lebby
Kendal Briles
Garrett Riley

Defensive Coordinator
Jeremy Pruitt (but a NCAA Show-Cause will kill that if the SEC Office doesn't)
Will Muschamp
Mike Tressel (he did well considering what he had against us in the Cotton Bowl)
The rest, I haven't got the slightest clue.

Well, let's hear it...

Golding is a Saban pet. He isn't going anywhere. No one else wants him, and if Saban was going to fire him it would already have happened.

Laughable to think that’s an option.
Yea Demeco is going to be a head coach in the NFL soon. He has done an outstanding job with that SF defense. He would be an all time hire. Also he has his own scheme. Not sure if Coach Saban would let him run his own defense. I would love to see it but like you said laughable.

I wan to slap that hat off his head when it’s backwards. It looks so dumb. I’m in my mid 40’s and it has reminded me to never turn my hat backwards.
Know I`m off subject, but since it`s been mentioned......What is the purpose of wearing a cap backwards anyway? I WILL say that I do turn mine backwards at the shooting range because the bill hits the scope....but otherwise,,,,why?

I did it in my 20's and younger, but once I hit 30 it seemed dumb and not something a grown man should be doing. I have done it since but only while wearing a hat and doing something that required me to look up. Even then it was only temporarily.

An interesting name I saw someone throw out would be Phil Parker.

Alabama hasn't had a top ten defense since Golding arrived. Not outside top 5, outside of top 10. This is after two consecutive seasons of the #1 defense.

One thing changed...

Players aren’t the ones who might not take the next step in their development. I think it might be time to encourage a few coaches into the transfer portal.

This has the feeling of a coaching staff with too many recruiters and not enough coaches.

BoB is completely out of touch with college play calling. Backward hat and diet coke and all....he has no feel. I dont care how wonderful of a coach someone like Herbstreit thinks he is....hes a bad college OC....hes a bad OC in general, ask the Texans.

We need someone younger, that relates to the kids, adjusts on the fly....basically, for lack of a better term, someone that can read the room. Who that may be, I'm sure Saban has a list.
Way too much talent on this team to get the results we have seen this year and last

I don't see anyone hiring O'Brien or Gol*ing away from us. Despite what herbie keeps trying to make people believe no one is going to steal them away. They will have to be fired to be gone, so speculating who the next guy is almost seems pointless. Having said that I would want Pruitt back for DC, I do not care what the SEC says (that seems like an overreach to say who you can and cannot hire). As far as OC? Literally anyone listed above would be better.

In no particular order...just the Best 5 names out there that might fit and are Creative and Aggressive

Offensive Coordinator:

1) Jeff Lebby - (OU) Kiffin Tree w/ SEC exp at Ole Miss
2) Garrett Riley - (TCU) Lincoln Riley's Brother and had a Top 15 Offense at SMU and Top 5 at TCU
3) Phil Longo - (UNC) Leach Tree w/ SEC exp at Ole Miss and Top 10 Offenses at UNC
4) Jeff Grimes - (BU) Top 5 Offensive at BYU and Top 15 at Baylor
5) Zach Kittley - (TT) Top 5 Offense at WKY w/ Zappe

Defensive Coordinator:

1) Jim Leonhard - (WIS) Several Top 5 and 10 Defenses and Creates lots of Turnovers
2) Phil Parker - (Iowa) Top 5 Defenses at Iowa and Creates lots of Turnovers
3) Glen Schumann - (UGA) Kirby tree at UGA and knows the system.
4) Mike Tressel (Cincy) Top 10 Defenses at both Mich St and Cincy
5) Jeremy Pruitt - *If Available in ANY way* is my #1 Choice

I'm not saying anyone on these lists are sure fire can't miss hires because you never know but pick anybody from my 2 lists and they would be MASSIVE Upgrades over what we currently have.

That's my 2 cents
