He is the GOAT for a reason, but I will state it............this isnt a good hire, and I dont care what experience he has with Saban before..........If he proves me wrong I will admit it, but I dont think I will be

This reeks of an NFL style “Jack Del Rio” hire, where the guy just continues to get hired even though the results don’t warrant it. I can’t believe we had to settle for him when other DCs were seemingly available.

We’ll likely never know the truth but I can’t imagine this was the plan when PG got sent to Oxford.

Welp these are pretty disappointing hires. I’m racking my brain but I can only remember one season where Steele didn’t look awful as a coordinator. That auburn year he had all those good cb’s. This is almost as bad as hiring Ted roof. Good god lemon

God help us but maybe he wasn’t sent packing maybe he really did just leave. Only reason I can see this hire is if Pete leaving was shocking and left Saban flat footed

Not crazy about this choice, but he's experienced and knows Saban's system. It's settled and done. I think we will be ok. Maybe get some toughness back and not "anxiety" before a game. Get some mean streaks going.

Yeah I would definitely have preferred going bold with Armstrong rather than bringing the old shoes from the back of the closet.

You may well be correct, colby. He wasn't my first choice, but I do remember the defense the barn had when he was there. He may very well be the placeholder others are talking about.

All I can say is Roll Tide! It's going to soon be time for spring ball. Spring game will give everyone a clue.
