Better to be hated than pitied...

Sums up my thoughts well. I get joy over your rival's failure to win another championship, but to use the school's victory celebration makes a mockery of all things Auburn. Only small minded people attempt to lift themselves up like this. After all, Alabama still ownes Auburn and this doesn't change that at all.

It is obvious that some Alabama fans have become very spoiled. I have been following Alabama football since the return of Bryant and I think we had better appreciate both the legacy established by prior great Alabama coaches/players and how Saban has brought us back to being generally recognized as one of the top few football programs in the nation. We can all find things to gripe about at a time like this, but the reality is that almost every other university in the nation would LOVE to have the players and coaches we now have at Alabama.

Both Alabama and Clemson can be proud of their teams and the way they played tonight. I know that some people do not like Dabo due to what took place in the Dubose era, but at some point, we need to be able to forgive what he may have been part of as a young assistant coach and remember him as part of the Alabama family. Everything I saw him say about Alabama was respectful and at some point he deserves to be treated the same way in return.

Alabama may well be a playoff team again next year, while Clemson will need to rebuild, just like most other universities when they finish a "run" of great teams. This is part of what we now take for granted, but we had better enjoy it while we still have Saban in his prime. RTR

Of course not. The better team didn't win that night. Auburn was outgained and watched field goals fly all over the place and then finally benefited from the absolutely horrendous decision to kick the last one.

Rolling Toomers tonight is no surprise for those self-righteous/deluded bush league BS-ers. I'll admit I screamed like a five-year old girl on a sugar high when Jameis (of all people) hit them last second three years ago, but the thought didn't occur to me to deface my own property.

I hate Auburn. Can you tell?

Offensive Pass Interference instead of flagging us in 4th quarter.
Clemson threw several passes so low they may or may not have been in the dirt. Clemson tried to go fast after these. Win some calls loose some...
Clemson had great play by Watson. He took a beating.

Bo goes down and we don't have a power back...

Our patched together Defense was Gassed in the 4th quarter.
Lane Kiffin said he thought Jalen had regressed in his passing as the season neared an end. (Maybe right)

All things considered we did a pretty good job against Clemson, just not enough.

Well I hate to break it to y'all, but I'd estimate >98% of college football fandom is celebrating right now. The "big bad wolf" lost.

Just like 2 years ago when we lost in the semifinals. Everyone proclaimed the dynasty over and all we did was go to the next 2 NCG.

This is why I am not a "SEC, SEC, SEC" fan. Why should I cheer on certain SEC schools when they don't cheer for Bama. LSU, A&M, AU and UT could never win again for all I care.

The reality is that Alabama does have one of the larger college football fan bases (disproportionate to the size of the school), but most other university fan bases have tired of us being as dominant as we have been in the last several years under Saban. I think this has taken a bit of a beating with younger people, who have been raised with the "everyone gets a trophy" mindset, as they think it is unfair for Alabama to be more celebrated than other teams.

A few initial thoughts...

1. Sark called a good game IMO. I would have liked to see us run it more during that long stretch of three and outs, but other than that, I have no complaints.

2. Hurts played great this year, but he just didn't progress enough to win an NC. Lack of passing game really killed us. I don't think he's in any danger of losing his job, but hopefully Tua can come in and at least push him.

3. You would think 31 points would be enough to win, but it's the way we scored that bit us in the end. No sustained drives, just big plays. Defense played 100 snaps. That's ridiculous against an offense like Clemson's.

4. With that said, defense had a chance to win the game at the end. Still think our DB play could improve significantly.

5. Pick plays were BS. At least one of them should have been called.

6. BUT that didn't lose us the game. Clemson was the better team, plain and simple.

Would love to think we're better than Pitt and NC St. guess not. We have got to get better QB play. I don't give a crap what anyone says. Tua will start next year.

I could care less bout any other football program other than Alabama. Back to Back is hard in every sport......not many win 26 in a row either.

I am butt hurt, but regardless the Tide is the best program in football. Its not over either.

Jalen reached his 18 year old ceiling ......18 year old true freshman. Kid did the best he could......with all of the top rated classes of recruits, what happened to have to start a true Freshman at QB? Missed on them or couldnt coach them up? Seems Bama has missed on QBs in recruiting if a true Freshman is your best option. Hopefully he learns and improves

We struggled to sustain drives and relied on big plays to score, and it got exposed towards the end of the year against good defenses. LSU, Auburn, Washington, Clemson all good defenses, all games we really struggled on offense. Clemson had a strong offense and defense, and neither one had to rely too heavily on the other.

Outside of QB, I think position-wise we have the more talented team. Our first year freshman QB was not on the same level as their veteran, 2 year hiesman candidate of a QB (but then again, how many teams QBs are?) Our QB ended up being one of the top QBs i the nation and actually put in the position to win the game with 2 minutes left. If our D would have stopped them, ironically Hurts would have been the one considered the hero ...

Through all the adversity this team faced, BAMA showed that they actually were more talented than a majority of teams in college football. In the end, it was a great Alabama team that came up short to another great team.
