It looks like Simpson is going to be the guy moving forward. I think he will get better as he gets more time on the field. I would also love to see more Roydell Williams since he was running hard in this game.
I don't think Simpson will be the guy.. I think It depends on who practices the best next week. needs to have back to back consistent week of practice.

I also think the performance of the oline today was in direct correlation to Milroe being benched. I saw a group today who basically quit on their team. I've coached and played sports a long time and I have no doubt that's what we saw today. The head man needs to quickly get control of his team before this goes off the rails.
Yeah but that doesn’t hold water when they played horribly with Milroe in the game anyway. I just think they’re not very good.

Here’s where I am..,

You can’t consistently win in the SEC with a 1 dimensional QB.

Jalen has a Great Deep Ball but everything else is sketchy even when he completes them. His passes are late and a bit inaccurate and often dangerous. He also can’t read a D and throws into traffic and turns the ball over. It’s a recipe for disaster. He also lacks touch on passes you need to move the chains.

Simpson needs time to bring along fully but we don’t have time. But he can make all the throws and can read Ds and go through progressions.

He hit a Touch pass over the Defender up the seam to the TE and a Slant/Bang 8 route that was a STRIKE right on the money.

Jalen can’t hit either of those in a consistent or even accurate way.

You gotta have a mid range passing attack and it needs to have a certain amount of accuracy and timing. Ty was on time.

Ty also came into a tight game and showed leadership and helped to guide the team to a win on the road.

Jalen threw two absolutely abhorrent INT’s to Texas that led directly to the exact margin we lost by and was lucky to not have more turnovers.

I’m riding with Ty if I’m CNS.

Ole Miss is going to be TOUGH and as much as I’ve railed on Golding he will know how to confuse Jalen and create turnover opportunities.

We stand a much better chance to go at them and future teams with a Balanced 2 dimensional attack.

But also no matter who is starting we GOTTA fix the O-Line because just about every guy is a straight liability right now and they are going to get all of our QB’s hurt.

This QB battle is truly one of the most puzzling things I’ve ever witnessed. After last season, everything pointed to Simpson, but then it just didn’t happen. But now, after seeing the result, it’s like “why wasn’t he starting the entire time?” It truly is mind-boggling.

His spring performance spooked both Saban and Reese. There wasn’t much separation between him and Milroe. In Fall camp it was more of an issue between him and Buchner. Milroe was the team pick and got the nod.

I still think had we made a serious effort in getting Hartman or van dyke out here prior to the spring then we are in a better situation

Ty is clearly a gamer.

I'm just now entering the thread and haven't tried to read all the background, but, IMO, this started a couple of years ago. I think Saban made a crucial mistake in recruiting. He made a decision that the game was going to return to heavy running and this turned out to be wrong. We are saddled with overweight, unagile OLs. We have a 370 lb LT who takes two seconds to move 4' to the left. Our OL is porous to fast. agile DL and LBs, not to mention blitzing DBs. It may take a cycle or two of recruiting to correct the error...
I think you are right...........need to go back to speed again

The performance they put forth today had "quit" written all over it. They looked bad against Texas, they looked atrocious today and USF dline ain't in the same universe as Texas.

I just wish the media would stop putting us in the playoffs. Lord have mercy, this is NOT a playoff bound team. Where are they getting this from?

I guess. I just refuse to believe players for the University of Alabama have quit on each other. If there is seriously a popularity contest regarding who should be QB, instead of playing the guy who gives us the best chance to win, then nothing we do or change will matter.

I half agree with you. Texas d line bullied us around and usf was leaner and quicker and just smoked our guys. There was some stench of quitting but I don’t think it was the qb I think it was the feeling of helplessness trying to stop someone who’s far far far more quicker and agile than you. Like coach Saban said no one wants to win more than the players on the team and no one hurts more after a loss than the players.
