Well, that's against a team that used 3 QBs against us. It was a good learning experience but I wouldnt lean to heavy on the stats. The Vols are generationally bad and I love it.

Although I hate to say thos I think I agree with Griese that Guaratano was supposed to either hand it off or pitch it. The play call may have been fine but he tried to get cute there with it.A fluke is when a ball bounces off a helmet into the arms of a running receiver

Looks like they might have found a punter. Najee's 100 yard performance means he has as many 100 yard game as all the running backs combined last year. The defense didn't look great the whole time, but 13 points and 231 yards is still solid.

Not to be a downer, but I don't think Mac gets the job done.
IMO: Mac hasn't really moved the chains.
He's got to get more reliable real quick...

Yep. And let me tell you, they're giving JG pure Hades over on Vol Nation. Supposedly, he changed the called play at the line and tried to be a hero, which resulted in our awesome 100-yard TD. They're saying that it's also the reason why Pruitt tore into him so much.

Defense played tough. If I remember correctly, at times during the game, we had as many as five true freshman in the game on defense. I think we're progressing pretty well with that many freshmen in the game.
Overall, we got that "crazy" game of the year out of the way. We always get everybody's best shot, so when we are just not quite up to the usual, things look weird.

One thing I will say about this defense is that we dont seem to give up too many explosive or home-run plays. When teams score on us they typically have to earn it and that eats up a ton of clock. If Tua can get back healthy ourniffense is so quick strike that, even with just a few 3 and outside for our Defense you still get lopsided scores.

Yes, the announcers seemed anti-Alabama. Levy said Alabama was getting all the calls because the game was at Alabama and Griese had too much pride to admit he was wrong about a penalty.
The offense suffered because of Tua's injury but the defense played better because of it. We may have to deal with being kept in the dark a bit about Tua's status the next 2 weeks because Saban may not want the LSU coaching staff to know too much, but I'm expecting him to play against LSU and be effective.
