Or maybe this is why there seemed to be a little lack of focus on offense yesterday.
There wasn't no lack of focus yesterday. I think everyone was freaking out over wrong stuff. This deal was in the work for a week or so... Just wasn't expecting Tom to be fired... I think they offered the job after the game last night.

We won't lose Young.. we will be fine. Saban is very good at hiring OC coaches... Look at Kiffin, Daboll, Locksley and now Sark.

Am I wrong, did this just come out of nowhere? If this is true there have obviously been discussions ongoing for some time.

I agree, but Saban will demand a 2 year commitment and I am not sure that Freeze would want to do that.
Agreed. I know you know this, but if he would do this he would be much more marketable. Think about Kiffin and Sark's "transformation". It would be in Freeze's best interest to at least take the call if it's made.

I think Texas had to make the move with Herman. Clearly you are on thin ice if your AD is openly discussing YOUR job with another coach, then turns around and gives you the dreaded “vote of confidence”.

That was Herman’s cue to “look for a realtor”.The “marriage” isn’t on the rocks. It is irreparably damaged.

As to Sark, I’m happy he has the chance to get back as a head coach. I just wished he wasn’t climbing into a pit of vipers in Austin. If I’m Sark, I take a good long at how Herman’s ouster was managed and ask myself if things would be different in the future for me?

Who could be promoted from within? Prob not going to happen but at least something to consider.
No more promote from within. Mike Locksley is why we lost in the 2018 National Championship. He didn’t utilize Tua correctly and Bret Venables looked way better than he was.

let’s go after someone outside our walls doing big things

This is the first world problem we’ve created, especially at the OC position. A once promising coach that has proven to be skilled as an offensive play caller gets tossed aside by a big name program and Coach Saban resurrects their career. Two years later, they’re head football coach again.

If Coach Saban called Tom Herman right now and said come be the OC, he couldn’t get here fast enough. He knows he’d be here 2 years with the most elite talent in the country and would then be the HC at USC or FSU.

The bright side is this: come to Bama as an "analyst", leave as a premier program head coach. Think Saban can't parley that into any OC he wants? I would rather Sark stuck around for another year, but let's see who he gets.

I wonder if Saban would take a look at Phil Longo or Jeff Grimes.

I personally wouldn't have a problem with Hugh Freeze. I'm sure we could pay him twice maybe three times what he is making at Liberty.

Kevin Wilson at tOSU would be nice as well but that won't happen(lateral move).

Not a fan of Lance Taylor on WJOX in Birmingham but he actually said a few days ago that (according to his “sources”) Herman would be fired and Sark would be the next coach at Texas.
