I think Tubs knows what is ahead, and really wants no part of what's to come for Aubarn..

Both sides knows this, and it will be a clean break on both sides....
I just don't see any coaches out there that is going to come into the SEC, and compete with recruiting with the big name coaches the SEC has.
Saban has got Bama wrapped up pretty much these days too.........

Wow, I agree...I'm not really surprised by the move, but they might should have kept Wingnut and just made him clean house other than possibly Rhoads. Their defense wasn't the issue this year.

If they do can Tubby, is there a coach out there that they could hire that should put fear into the hearts of us Bama fans? I'd think it wouldn't really matter to us who was at the barn. We've got Nick Saban, so why would we care?

I'm reading the barn boards (going to have to be cleansed after that), and an interesting impression they're getting is that AU might be searching for a coach, but if they don't find one, they'll retain Tubberville.

Still, some aren't ready to believe Del Greco while others are. I don't think a day long meeting with your boss was what Tubberville really needed in terms of job security.

WJOX is also stating, according to other reports, that Muschamp will take the Auburn job if offered.

As noted on a barner board, the fact that Tubs is sitting in auburn and NOT out recruiting - like he said he would be - looks bad for Tubs.

In many situations, this is where the information is first leaked. Therefore, I'd think there's legitimacy to it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way he was at the Bama/Barn game similar to the way Fran was at his last Iron Bowl. He had no fire, no emotion whatsoever. It was almost like he could care less.

Oh, well, the people at Auburn have been known to do stupid things. He has not done a bad job there, how do you fire a coach that has won like he has.

Yes, Tubby has won in the past, but what is the future? Not good. I think Auburn is making a good decision in replacing him. He's averaged 4 losses each year in his 10 years. And as was pointed out, he hasn't acted like he's cared the last year or so.

AU is scared to take that next step. They seem as thought hey won't fire a coach until they have new one already hired it. They showed this during "Jetgate" and are showing it again now. They are worried that if they fire CTT they will not be able to find anyone "worthy."

You could see the hand writing on the wall. If he came back next year, that would just seem to set Auburn back even more. They know they have to get someone in there that can bring some life back to that program. As we all know Saban has drained the life out of Aubie in just two short years.
