Our respective baseball teams are having great seasons.. From the looks of it, I would love for you guys to be bumped up to a #1 seed to host a regional which would square our two teams off in a super regional. Good Luck for the rest of the season!!

I wouldn't call this year a GREAT year for Alabama Baseball...atleast not yet. We are used to a lot better than this. I think this team is very capable, though, of finishing strong and making it a great season. 26-11 (8-7) is a good record for SEC teams, but I will be a little more pleased when we are further away from .500 in the league.

We're spoiled by CJW. We have a young team, but we have talent. Another talented recruiting class is coming in. I'd love to see us finish 18-12 in the SEC (or better) and possibly host a regional, but it won't be easy. RTR

No offense, but we are NOT having a great season right now. It is way too early to even be talking about #1 seeds, etc. Our team will have its hands full forging the rest of the way through the conference schedule. Absolutely nothing is guaranteed at this point, and quite frankly, these tournament projections that have appeared recently are absurd. The immediate task at hand is to finish strong in the conference. It would be foolish to start making postseason predictions with our current standing.

Your Aggies, though, appear to be in decent shape in the Big XII (though only ten play baseball thanks to the respective climates of Ames and Boulder). This is clearly the best team you all have had since '99, and I imagine all of the fighting farmers are glad to have those last three mediocre seasons behind them. I guess the big question in your conference is whether anyone is capable of knocking off the Horns.

Good luck to your baseball team the rest of the way.

I appreciate the kind words. I guess I should have chosen my words a little carefully. Yes, Bama's team this year doesn't compare to some of your teams in the mid to late 90s, but they have the ability to do some damage come postseason.

The Whorns have to go to Nebraska this weekend, and I am not sure they can take two from a hot NU team in Lincoln. If that's the case, and we take care of business against OSU, you will see a three way tie for first place in the Big XII. We hold the tiebreaker over NU (won 2 of 3). That makes for an interesting final weekend of the season, barring no meltdowns by us or Texas. The Friday game is in College Station, and the Sat/Sun game is in Austin. Definite stakes on the line there!! If any of you guys live in Texas or are around the weekend of the 16th-18th, you should definitely come out. The atmosphere is crazy for college baseball!!

On a side note, it is great to see the baseball support that comes out of Alabama. I believe there is a rather long streak now with LSU, Alabama, A&M, and MSU holding down the top attendances in college baseball.

CSAgFan,
Its funny that you say thanks for the kind words, and then turn around and call UT the Whorns. I guess I'll consider the source, considering they have won the same number of NC's in the last year as your school has combined in baseball and football all time.
And yes I have been to Disch and CS for a baseball series and the atmosphere is great.

Tider... didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, but rivals talk smack to each other... they call us Aggy, we call them Whorns.. it's like you guys calling Auburn the "Barn", and them calling you guys "Bammers"... I'm not sure why it offended you???

Hopefully I can make it out to a Bama game some day...

No, I would say they will be pulling for the good guys.

Don't sell yourself short. You should also mention the "not-having-won-a-National-Championship-in-any-sport-since-1940" streak.

If it comes down to the Longhons and Aggies, I think it is safe to say the Horns are returning to Omaha for a sixth baseball National Championship.

I'm jealous. I wish I could have been there. But my brother was getting married on the exact same day, and I was the best man.

Hopefully this year's Longhorn team will make it back, and the Tide will be there as well.

We'll see about that Longhorn 99. The Friday night game in College Station will definitely be the game that will tell us who will win the Big 12. With you guys having KU, KSU, and us left, you guys should do no worse than 6-3. That being said, if you guys go 8-1, you will ultimately wrap it up. We have Mizzou, KU, and you guys left... at worse we should go 5-4, and at best 7-2... if we go 7-2, I think we wrap up the championships.... Good Luck, should be an exciting finish!!!
