I'm in a cranky mood today, and whilst on my way back from Full Moon in B'ham I heard that retarded "the Round Table" show on Jox.

Does anybody else think that Lance Taylor and that other guy are just a pair of tools? Do yall think their heads would explode if they had a single original thought?

I like the morning show with Jay Barker and Al Del Barner, and Slimebaum speaks for himself. Am I just needing some meds or do they make everyone else cranky too?

Oh man, couldn't agree more. Lance Taylor is a boob. Isn't that the show with that nitwit Kelly Hunter, or whatever her name is? She drives me up the wall as well. Thank goodness I don't listen very often, nor do I get much of a chance to.

I listened to JOX while returning home from B'ham on Monday. I'm glad I can't pick-up this station on a daily basis from where I live. The whole "round table show" had nothing to do with sports. All they discussed for over a hour was some TV show that they watched the night before. Pitiful.

I don't like them much because they frankly rarely talk sports and when they do talk sports they come across as just plain stupid. Kelley (The first lady of Sports) Hunter is a joke in my book and why in the world she was originally paired with Herb & Ray was a complete indication as to why Jox has to change their lineup all the time. Their program director doesn't have a clue. Sorry if you are reading this Ryan, but it's obviously true.

I think Kelly Hunter quit her job after she had her baby.

Just hearing Lance Taylor talk makes me want to throw up. I wonder if BayouTider has any emoticons of vomiting?

Well, they're radio hosts, not journalists. Which means they don't have to be objective. Although, how many journalists these days are objective?

The Roundtable's okay. It's kind of a nice break from the all-sports shows. Especially this time of year. Not much to talk about sports wise.

I think Finebaum's got one of the best talk shows in America.

Finebaum isn't as bad as he used to be, in my opinion. It just makes me mad that he suffers Iman and Bobby. Shane and Dawson can be real morons too, now that I think about it.

Having lived in exile in Athens for the past three years, I can't tell you how much I enjoy getting back to B'ham and hearing both morning shows, D&B and, yes, even Finebaum. Sure beats having to listen to Jon Kincaid and Buck Belue every day...and we won't even start on the Athens sports talk station!

The difference between Birmingham sports talk and pretty much everywhere else is that no other sports actually exist outside of college football - and this time of year, I'm very cool with that.

I thought Doug Bell had the best show going, back when he was on 101.1. Intelligent, family friendly, not egotistical, not junior-high-locker-room-ish.

As far as I know he's not on the air anywhere now.

I think the market is wide open for a clean, crisp, mature show with likable hosts and without all the "aren't we clever and funny" yucking it up. The Stabler/Stewart "ultimate sports show" has sounded pretty good the few times I've been able to hear it.

And someday some enterprising radio host is going to figure out that there's a whole lot of folks around here that care about three main sports ... college football, college football recruiting, and college football spring practice (with a little college basketball thrown in for a change of pace) ... and really don't give a rip about Michael Vick, Barry Bonds, the NBA, ice hockey, the Beckham dude, or that French bicycle race.

Oh, and while I'm speechifying here ...

"Matt and Jay in the Morning" was very listenable. I can hardly stand to listen to the current format with Jay, Al, and Tony.

The "one-Bama-guy-one-Auburn-guy-and-one-verbose-host-who's-still-living-his-adolescence" formula doesn't work very well ... and while I like Jay, his personality doesn't fit the bicker and banter format.

Based on his ratings and syndication, I'm not the only one.
.... it's an indisputable fact . Doesn't mean everyone has to like it but , they should at least acknowledge the truth .
