The coaching staff that had them heading in the right direction is gone.

Oregon's had one impressive showing versus a top-tier team over the few years - last season - but the rest of that season showed that game was a fluke.
That explains my confusion. I didn't realize Cristobol had left.

first game of the season, starters should play most of the game. Can’t simulate game conditions in practice.

Blackledge just said Cristobal brought a physical presence to Oregon. I guess he didn’t watch Utah have their way with them.
I just said the same thing to a friend of mine. It is the same “soft” team that got throttled by Utah twice

Of the PAC-12 teams, Utah most closely resembles an SEC team in style and physical play. It will be interesting to watch Utah- Florida tonight.
