After the hand slap given to Brandon Spikes for trying to blind the UGA player, why not reinstate him?
True.

To be honest, I really don't have a problem with it. I thought Oregon did a great job in the way they initially handled this matter. He's missed eight games. Maybe he's learned his lesson. I certainly hope so, but I really don't have a big problem with him being reinstated.

We all know multiple chances are hardly given out in the real world.
(much less in this economy)
I hope he makes the most out of this. Many did not want him to get another chance, so he should count his blessing, and make this time count.

Yep, let him back in (but his coach should never have said he was suspended for the rest of the season).

I hope he doesn't blow this latest chance.

Too little too late for Oregon. They could have used this guy last week against Stanford. I thought he was supposed to be suspended for the entire season? Hmmm.

I don't have a problem with it. If you ask me, the BSU player [provoked it and got what he deserved. I thought Brandon Spikes' offense was worse and he received far less of a penalty. IMHO if the Oregon coach had suspended him indefinitely as opposed to "for the year", I think that everyone would have been okay with the length of the suspension.

Not condoning the punch, but I was more critical of the interaction with the fans than the punch (thought that Boise St guy was acting a fool - and as someone said, both got what they deserved....one got suspended w/o knowledge of reinstatement and the other got dropped like a rock on national tv.)

He should get to play out the remaining games and he's suspension seriously hurt Oregon's PAC 10 conf. title chances by not being on the field against Stanford.

I also like that there were specific hurdles that he had to clear regarding class work

I dislike the Ducks, but have no problem with the reinstatement. I thought Chip Kelly initially panicked and overreacted by suspending him for the season. Like it was stated before, he should have suspended Blount indefinitely. That would have shut up the press and given Kelly ample time to make the right decision.

Just my opinion but I don't think we have heard last of him but we will see as other opponents will test him. They will be walking away not turning their backs on him! :BigA:

I only saw the punch on Youtube the day after, but are you sure that the BSU player was taunting him? For all I could tell he could have just patted the guy on the shoulder and said "good game". I didn't see any other footage that proved he taunted. I just think it's hard to say what really caused Blount to go off the deep end that night. Maybe I'm wrong though.

The BSU player pretty clearly taunted him, he made sure he found blount, tapped him on the shoulder, said something to him and then smiled as he turned away before getting the smile knocked off his face.

Blount came out and said before the BSU game that Oregon was out for revenge after last years loss so im sure he was being sought after...

so in this day and age of trash talking it's ok to do it on the field? but not so off the field?

he should learn how to take a loss a little better. instead of acting like a crazed crack headed ape!

otherwise, he'll just be another meaningless statistic in the real world.

I have no problem with his reinstatement. Frankly, the more I see the video, the more I feel like the BSU player had it coming. Yeah, Blount shouldn't have thrown a punch, but I can't honestly blame him. I would have too. Just lost the game, upset about your performance, and then this jerk comes over, completely unprovoked, just to rub your face in it?

On a side note....that WAS a nice hit huh? I'd have Blount in my corner any day!
