Out of all the games this may not be the most interesting, but living in Atlanta I'm always having to hear how good they are. I heard it so much, I guess I had just assumed they were good, since I don't keep up with them at all and know little about their stars.

The problem with that is that UGA is considered a favorite in the East with a near identical situation as our, maybe worse. They are coming off a season as mediocre/bad as ours(maybe worse). However, they continue to get all this love. Their defense should be better than ours (I don't think by too much if we stay healthy), but there are some serious question marks on their offense.

With all the love they have been getting about how good they'll be this year, this game instantly stuck out to me. OSU runs a very different offense than most teams in the SEC, except for some aspects of UF's offense.

My question is why does everyone like UGA in the East?
and
Who will win between OSU v UGA?

Georgia should win this game, but if they come out lethargic and/or fail to take the Pokes seriously, OSU is very capable of pulling the upset. They have a very, very good offense.

Well, UGA is stocked with talent. Ineffective play at the QB position is just about all that kept them from 10 wins last year. Stafford looked good at the end of the year and should be much improved. Only tn looks to have as many blue chippers as Ga does in the east.

OSU's offense should give Georgia problems but the OSU defense was pretty bad last year. UGA should roll on talent alone.

Living in UGA/AU hell (southwest Georgia), I am qualified to answer this question.

UGA is seemingly always a contender for the east for one simple reason: The dawgs think that Herschel still has a year of eligibility left and they have convinced the media this is true.

What no UGA fan/media person looks at is the game in J'ville around Halloween. This is almost a certain win for UF, as evidenced by recent history. I guess they assume that two SEC teams will beat UF and put UGA in Atlanta as the east's representative. Almost worked last year except for some of the media forgot to tell UT, Vandy, and UK what the plan was.

BTW, I hate UGA almost as much as I do AU and UT!!!!Almost.:eek2:

I think the line is about right for this one. I haven't been able to answer that one, myself.

 Nor can I since they are a 4 loss team at the minimum . JOMO . :p

In my eye , OkSt is a better team and Ga has more holes than a pound of swiss . Cowboys to drop the puppies .

Vegas has them a 6.5 point favorite.

I think that's about right. I'd take UGA. But not by much. I wouldnt think it'd be more than a TD margin and might not be that much. Thing about games like this is, when teams don't have a warm up game and start off against a team with comparable talent for the opening game, it gets really hard to predict.

I agree. QB was their only real problem. Once they have that solved, they can probably win the east.

Remember this name! Adarius Bowman. I guarantee Georgia will after this game. This WR set the Big 12 record for receiving yards in a game last year when he got 300 in a mid-season game against Kansas on 13 catches resulting in 4 touchdowns. Not too bad for one days work. He kicked rear the rest of the season. Also played second semester on the OSU basketball team.

That being said, Georgia will have to get pressure on the QB and double Bowman. If this game were on a neutral field or in Stillwater I would say OSU by at least 10. The biggest knock against OSU is that they are usually terrible on the road (unless of course they're in Norman for the Bedlam Series).

OSU will cover the spread, but believe me I want nothing more than to be wrong and see the SEC kick the Big 12!

Roll Tide and Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Who's going to catch the ball ? The WR's are average at best and the GA life-line(TE) has never been this bare - only 1 on scholly . I know OkSt can score a bundle of points and the Ga D has more patches than Frankenstein . I have zero faith in Ga's ability to out-score them and I believe the wrong team is getting the points .
JOMO :cool2:

People are wondering why UGA is being favored to win the East?

Here is maybe just a small reason....they have been to the SECCG 3 of the last 6 years....seems pretty good to me...how about you all?

UGA...as terrible as they were last year...won 9 games and KILLED...yes, KILLED...the barn at the barn.

The UGA team that played CU, OM, MSU, Vandy, UK was not the same team that played AU, GT, and VT. Once Stafford started and got comfortable, they started rolling and it showed.

BTW, UF does own UGA...pretty badly...yet UGA has beaten UF more recently then we beat the barn...so, we aren't much better against our biggest rival.
