Napier couldn’t organize labor in a maternity ward. Completely inept. The guy should fired this morning just for his play calling and putting DJ Lagway in terrible situations.

Napier is trying to treat DJ like he is a QB with 25 games of starting experience. DJ will get better but NOT with Napier as his play caller.

That dead cat bounce from last year just postponed the inevitable.

After 8&4..ND does not play another ranked team so they will remain in the Top 10...this is why scheduling is a joke
In our defense, our schedule this year is more of a product of letting those with the bovine persuasion into the conference than anything else. Will be happy when we have the 3-9 format set. It wasn't lost on me we may be benefitting from it this year. But offline Aggies would welcome better competition in a heartbeat. Why? Aggies like me, who have been watching things since the SWC days, know you simply don't build programs around playing.

Texas A&M was consistently ranked in the Top 10 in the waning days of the SWC, with legit paths to winning a National Title or two, then losing the bowl. That's directly the result of the team simply not being prepared to dial in for the stiffer competition, and it became evident the SWC was an overall weak conference. To a large extent, this was a case in the BDF ("big dumpster fire", or Big 12, for anyone that doesn't get the reference). It was the OU, tu, and early on NU show, with unequal revenue sharing, and all the other problems that have been discussed ad nauseum.

No, we don't enjoy easy schedules. But our schedule this year isn't exactly "easy". I don't think Auburn should be unranked (our next game). So Carlina got exposed this weekend, but then Vandy isn't typical Vandy, and I think it's safe to say So Car is rightly (and should be) a ranked team. But we get both at home, and of course, with the ND win, the 12th Man will be on fire at Kyle Field. We go to Missouri, they aren't looking bad and are a ranked team. We get Miss State at home, and they should be ranked, IMO. Florida is bad, we have them at home, but they did hold it to 10 pts at LSU. But we have to go to LSU and Texas. Frankly, I'm worried more about LSU than the sips.

I do think we have a "favorable" schedule this year. Our biggest hurdle is behind us now, so I get someone saying we could coast ranked high for a while. But we do have ample opportunity to lose in playing LSU and tu on the road, and So Car, Auburn or Miss State feel like potential ambushes at home.

PS - Miss playing you fine folks.

I watched some highlights of Arch in their game vs UTEP yesterday. My goodness he looks awful. His field vision is atrocious and his mechanics are absolutely horrible.

He threw one to the sideline to a wide open receiver on a curl....his front foot and shoulder flew open and he sidearmed it to him. WR tried diving for it, but the throw was so bad it had no shot.

That was just one bad play, he had lots of them. He looks rough.

I respect your point of view and well stated. Also a BIG thank you for winning that game and hopefully ( I have my doubts) eliminating ND from the playoffs..

Probably at 35k or in an airport somewhere

So assuming Arch is who Arch will be at this point, was he a recruiting evaluation miss by everyone (including CNS), or has Sark somehow done to him what Belichick did to Mac Jones?

Probably just a miss on evaluation.

I don’t remember him looking this bad last year though.

Granted it was action against nothing but cupcakes but his mechanics and decision making seems far worse this year.

It has me wondering if he picked up bad habits from Ewers with that stupid sidearm release even when it’s completely unnecessary.

His accuracy has gone off a cliff.

The mental part could be him just melting under the pressure of being the QB1 with his Last Name.

Coming off the Bench and/or Temporary filling in for an entrenched starter is easier than being expected to be THE GUY.

Plus not just any guy but the next Manning.

As it pertains to Arch Manning, i think there is a fine line between playing them early as true freshmen or after a RS year or later. Some are mentally and emotionally “built to wait their turn” while others allow the pressure of “building expectations” (which I think could be the case with Arch) to lead them to wilt. This is Arch Manning’s third year in Sark’s system at UT. For the first two years, the expectations of “next great, can’t miss guy” has built in Austin. And that can’t be easy.

Look at Ty Simpson. He sat…and sat…and sat. Ty was a five star guy with somewhat similar expectations. But I think being the kid of a college head coach put him in a better position mentally to handle the ups and downs of his college career.

Well, of course, our eyes are opened to how good we could be this year if we clean up some things, and hope we make it to the playoffs (and even better, win it). But if the fates say my Aggies won't, I too am happy we did it to the Irish. I've been to a game in SB, horrid fan base. If this isn't our year, we generally prefer the SEC to win it all. If it helps you or another SEC team, good. Time to return it to the SEC.

Arch was overhyped because of his last name and competition level in high school. I don’t know if the sidearm thing is a recent development, but it looks like he has never even played the position before.

There’s rumors on the tex boards mannings got a shoulder injury and is playing thru it and that’s why he’s side arming it. Personally I think he’s lost all confidence in his accuracy so he’s trying to aim it by side arming it. Either way he’s gonna get pullled if he can’t get his head together
