There is going to be some shake-up in the polls as a result of this game. Do we really care who wins? OU solidifies No. 1 if they win, and UT may jump us if they win (depending on their play). I know lots of Bama fans feel sentimental about OU, so are the Sooners the consensus favorite of Bama fans in this game?

Boomer Sooner!

although, would be nice to move to No. 1 in the off week...but would we? or would we be jumped by Texas if they were to win? I think we might be one and texas 2.

count me as one sentimental for OU though :)

i've been thinking about this the past week...

if Oklahoma wins, that's it. they're #1.
if Texas blows 'em out, i see Texas at #1.
if Texas wins by a field goal or less, we may move up.

but then again, Mizzou could jump us.

I want it to look like this:

Texas defeats Oklahoma giving them 1 loss

Mizzou defeats Texas giving them 1 loss

Mizzou loses in the Big 12 Championship game giving all 3 one loss

I can't see where it matters who wins; not when I look at the big scheme of things. Right now, of the BCS teams, and not the so-called BCS busters, I could see the winner of the Big 12 and there are 5 undefeated right now and the winner of the SEC playing for the title. Personally, I'd like to see OU play BAMA for the ring. If not OU, Texas; Either reminds me of days gone by. PSU could spoil a one loss Big 12 or SEC hopes. But look at last season with all of its twist and turns. It seemed like every team but BAMA was going to play USC at different stages of the season; WVA, Cal, USF, GA, MO, KS to name a few. I can't see Ohio St getting back into the mix, even with a win over PSU, as long as USC wins out. On the other hand USC could slip back up in contention, if there is no or only one undefeated team; computer ranking could be their down fall, depends on where ND is ranked when they play.

So, no I don't see it mattering when it comes to BAMA's best interest, but I like OU colors over Texas. Dislike Auburn, TN, Texas, Clemson and Halloween. BOOMER SOONER!!!!

Whoever loses will drop down. Only if OU loses do we have any shot of moving up. I'm not sure this is the time to have that #1 target on your back but any top 10 team has a target on them. Since I'm gaining a Longhorn son in law in about 30 days I'll have to learn to say "Hook em Horns".

Egad man! :eek2: Teach him how to say Roll Tide! :)

If Bama continues to win, I don't think it matters who wins OU/UT, but I'd just as soon play OU, so I'll be pulling for the Sooners this weekend.

Obviously, as long as BAMA holds the #2 spot, its beneficial for BAMA for OK to lose, but I still like the Sooners. I'm okay with BAMA being where they are right now.

Yes, that would be a fun match up in the championship game, provided we are fortunate to attend.

Both teams have been playing lights out football...In my honest opinion, whoever wins this game should be #1.

I agree, a three point win over UK and a bye week doesn't deserve the #1 spot over the winner of this game.

This season could get interesting....I could legitimately see a 1 loss SEC team, Big 12 team, or USC playing in the BCSCG but what to do if PSU runs the table? I could very well see four deserving teams sitting among the top. Playoff.......please!

I think the best situation in the long run for Alabama is if Texas wins, then loses to Mizzou. The problem is if OU wins then that sets up a undefeated Big 12 championship game and OU has a chance to stay at number 1 the whole way (remember no regular season Mizzou game). It's possible that Alabama stays in front of a victorious Texas, then stays in front of a victorious Mizzou. Then if Mizzou loses in the Big 12 championship game, that sets up the most realistic BCS championship game without a Big 12 representative.

That's a long shot and kind of convoluted though. The SEC champion and the Big 12 champion both have a clear path to the BCS championship game right now. Alabama wins out they play for a championship. A undefeated Big 12 team plays in the game as well. The problem I see is what happens to a one loss 'Bama team? Of course making it to the SEC championship game would still be very important, but their standings in the polls would matter a lot as well. So, I'm going to pull for OU to lose... nothing against them it's just the best chance for Alabama to move up in the polls.

Well, looking through my very crimson colored glasses. If Alabama makes it to the title game. I really dont care who we play and there is just not many things that Alabama has never done on a football field if you think about it. Officially beating Texas is one of them. It would be nice to get that done officially. Joe Namath knows we have beat them but its unofficial...

Boomer Sooner! Big surprise there huh? lol

Regardless of my preferences, an OU/Bama game (granted we've got a LONG way to go) would be a great matchup for college football.
