With us fans being disappointed about not making the playoffs. The Tide "quietly" broke a record this season with consecutive 10 win seasons which is now at 15. The only year keeping that number from 11 is 2010. So we are currently at 12 years with at least 11 wins. What an amazing accomplishment.. That record may never get touched already but Bama is set up for several more. An amazing run for sure. We are all blessed as fans to be part of it!

Simply amazing. Also I think coach Saban (189 wins) is only 31 wins away from coach Bryant's 220 wins at Alabama record.
I didn't realize Saban was that close.

Just looked it up, Saban is at 189 (going by NCAA records, which excludes four wins in 2007) and Bryant ended at 232, so Saban needs 43 wins to surpass Bryant. That means that if Saban coaches at Bama for four more seasons (assuming Bama continues to play well) he should surpass Bryant...

Coach Bryant is grinning ear to ear up there. Yeah I said that.
Watched the post game press conference. CMS had that look about him. GOOD to see that. From a distance it has always seemed to me that when Coach has that look and tone with focus...he has a plan. Lookout ncaa. Here he comes with prpbably a room full of other coaches. May be reading too much from that postgame, but when he comes out in force? He means it. I love it man.

Yep. I've always said that Coach Bryant would have been EXTREMELY happy with the hiring of Nick Saban.

Comparing these things across eras is tricky, since there are more games now. In the Bryant era, 10 games was standard for the regular season; now, it's 12. The SEC Championship Game didn't exist until 1992. Plus, the Playoff (post-2014) allows what amounts to 2 bowl games instead of 1. So, at most, Bryant could have won 11 games (an undefeated regular season plus the Sugar Bowl) in a season whereas Saban can win as many as 15 (a 12-0 regular season, the SEC Championship, the CFP semis, and the CFP Championship Game).

Now, I think Saban has surpassed Bryant as the GOAT. It's much harder to win a championship now that you have to go through all those hoops. All seven of Saban's championships (counting 2003 LSU) came in matchups where the #1 team was guaranteed to face the #2 team on the field to decide it all. But the win totals by themselves are misleading.
