Pay players for staying after they GRADUATE?

Could an institution (college football school) use a monetary incentive package as a reward to players that stay by awarding it post-graduation? The football program could be managed to "grade" the players on performance from the minute they step on campus, and from these evaluations place a price on the player's staying until GRADUATION.

Are there restrictions on paying players after they are no longer players?
There shouldn't be.

If there were a way to "grade" players and notify them of their package based on their stats, performance, and "grade" throughout their college careers. If one guy starts to hint at leaving early, the school can say here's what were offering if you stay and GRADUATE.
The players may hear one thing from the NFL scouts, but the coaches they trust could help to balance the scale with realism, educating them on their choices, and advising them of the monetary gain for their performance after they GRADUATE.

It could be used as incentive during school for the college coaches to once again gain the leverage they need to compete with NFL somewhat, and more effectively train and control the above-average, pandered-to athlete. $$$

I think Mike Shula is doing it right by recruiting the right kind of guys, the ones that want to do what's best for Alabama and the TEAM, but times change, and the NFL vacuum is getting stronger. Something must be done.

Alabama could be the first to circumvent the vacuum effectively and legally.
Anyone know any restrictions (NzAA) on monetary incentives to be awarded AFTER GRADUATION. It makes sense in these days.
If not now, sometime...something has to be done or college football will be nothing more than pre-NFL.

Just an idea.
Any thoughts?

Part of UT's defense is that the loan setup for John Henderson took place one day after he played his last game as a UT player, so it must be OK if ut says so. Right?

I think the solution to a lot of the problems in division 1 ball is to allow anyone of any age to enter the NFL draft. Let blue chip high schoolers get directly drafted into the NFL if that is what they want. Sure you would lose a lot of talented players to the draft. But the ones that stuck around would want to be there. The level of play might decrease, but it would do so equally. I do not think the excitement or entertainment value would be impacted much. And the players that went directly to the NFL? - guys like Maurice Clarett or Kelly "The Future" Winslow. Not a big loss IMHO.

HYPOTHETICAL:

Say, for instance, Tim Castille wins the Heisman as a Junior tailback and wants to declare for the draft.
His father would probably want him to stay in school, and most fans would want him to stay in school, but the scouts would be whispering $$$$$$$ to cut bait and declare for the money the NFL would be offering. If UA could use money in a delayed-gratification scenario for Castille, then it would be foolish for him to leave early. He could GRADUATE, better his skills, help Alabama win National Championship number 13, and go on with a sack of legal money from Alabama people to add to his NFL signing bonus after GRADUATION..

My point: something has to be done to give these guys alternatives that are healthy, and still allow for them to gain compensation for their hard work on the field.
A man that works has got to get paid. Period.
The draft pressure tactics are unhealthy.
Schools have plenty of money that could go to these players....LEGALLY.
The beauty of it all is...the NzAA couldn't say JAck cRaP!!!

if the deal is cut while the student is still a student then it would be against the rules. The reason is that you are making a monetary promise to a student/athlete, which is an incentive.
