Woo Hoo! Can't wait, I have 2 close friends who are Penn State fans. Going to make the drive down from VA. First ever trip to Tuscaloosa. First game was this year against VA Tech.

I love that we are scheduling real teams now unlike that loss-aversive scheduling we had to get Shula to a bowl game.

It should be a good one. I think that PSU loses quite a few players to graduation next year. Should be interesting to see what their team identity will be.

I can't wait, either! My grandfather played at Penn State in the 30's, and he had a lifesize cardboard cut out of Joe Paterno in his tv room. My mom considers Bama and Penn State to be her favorite two teams, so I'm going to get her tickets!

For the millionth time not much has changed in scheduling and is not likely to change. Two seasons ago we played Clemson, this season VT, 2010 it will be Penn St. the rest of the schedule looks about the same with Duke, San Jose St. and Georgia St. on the menu. If you think Alabama or any other major college is going to schedule all top 25 teams as their OOC games you are living in a dream world.

Especially when you play an SEC schedule. When you play in the SEC and you play one big name opponent outside the conference, I don't think you can ask anything more of a school.

I agree with what you are saying about any other major college football program, but there are no gimmes in the SEC when you get into conference play.

Also, I think you have to consider if you play a major program, they are going to want you to play and home and home with them unless it's a case like Alabama playing Clemson and then VT for a one time deal at a neutral site. Home games make tons of money for major college football teams. I think this factors into the equation as well.

Other than one of the games with OU, our OOC scheduling altogether was pretty bad during the Shula years. But then again, it's probably a good thing that it was--otherwise our record would have even been worse than it was under the Rader/Connelly/Shula regime.

This is one game I hope to score a ticket to especially if Joe Pa is still there. I think it would be awesome to be at one of his games before he retires.

Roll Tide!!!!
