Never been to tee's

There are still a few places I see around that i always want to go to but one of my friends will always want to go to an old faithful which we have numerous. And no I've never been to Hale's Tavern. Is that a bar? You're gonna have to ask someone that drinks for the best bars in town. I'm not old enough either. The only thing I notice are the ladies that walk in and the ladies that stagger out.

BTW i luv wings but wings are a commodity you can find better elsewhere. BBq and soul food are not things I've seen duplicated any where else.

If it's a Thursday night I always like "Wings" good place to watch the game or Willhagen's downtown. Biglittle, it sounds like you've been everywhere, have you been to Tee's on 15th st close to Stillman? Is Hale's Tavern still open?
Wings on Thursday night during football season means the "Hey Coach" radio broadcast. That's a good thing to see, but be prepared to wait awhile because it is running over with fans due to the radio broadcast.

Hale's Tavern specializes in New Orleans cusine...It can be a bar too, but so could Applebee's. BTW, if you like the Brown Bag you'd like Tee's.

Wow! TideFans are the greatest! We won't go hungry in Tuscaloosa and Northport. As a famous Alabamian and UA alum used to say, thank ye, thank ye, thank ye.

Tut's on the strip has the best Calzones and chicken parmigian asndwich's you will ever have. Depalma's has the best pizza around, City Cafe can't be beat for homestyle cooking, and Cypress Inn for fine dining. Buffalo Phil's on the strip isn't bad for a quick lunch.

Hale's Tavern is no more. It's a mexican place called El Rincon. Very good. Pepitos on the Strip is also still open.

Big Bad Wolf and Quick Snack have good burgers, fries, BBQ sandwiches, etc. if you want to eat and run on the strip.

More upscale dining includes Yazoo's (where Storyville/Coyote Cafe used to be), Kozy's, Evangeline's, and Epiphany Cafe. Cypress Inn, The Globe, Cafe Venice, and DePalma's are all also really good.

If you're in town on a weekday, definitely give City Cafe in Northport a try for lunch. I'm pretty sure they aren't open on weekends...at least they weren't when I was a student there. It's a "meat and three" kind of place. Don't let the line out the door scare you...it moves fast.

Oh, how I miss City Cafe!!!!! Wow, let me tell you what - you do come out of there stuffed!!!!!!!!!! I don't think they are open on weekends either!!

O.K. What? Quick Snack is back?! The Quick Snack I remember was next to Alabama Book Store on the strip and has been gone for what? 10-12 years? The building has even been gone for several years, now. Is it back? On what part of the strip? Man, I used to go there and get a sandwich and tots about 3-4 A.M. on many nights. I've missed that place!

City Cafe for sure if you're there during the week, because as many have said, they aren't open on weekends (and they close at either 3:00 or 4:00, so go for breakfast or lunch). $5.34 for a meat, 4 veggies, and all the sweet tea you can drink... can't be beat. Tuesday is the best day because it's chicken-fried steak AND fried green 'maters day... but really any day will work.

Other than that there are the normal chains... Ruby Tuesday, Applebees, Hooters, Chilis, Logan's, Cracker Barrel, etc. McAllister's is great for tasty, albeit overpriced, sandwiches, as is the Atlanta Bread Co. Wings is a great place to go as far as Crimson Tide atmosphere goes, as is Rama Jama's, which has the best shakes in town.

A couple of the bars also have very good food. Buffalo Phil's pm the strip has awesome burgers, and Wilhagan's downtown has pretty good food, and is just a fun bar.

If you like Italian, Cafe Venice is one of the best I've ever had, and Pepito's is tops as far as Mexican food goes.

And, of course you have the Cypress Inn and Dreamland.

...man... I'm starting to remember why I gained 40 lbs in college. Well, that and keg parties.

i was informed that taxes sales taxes that is have gone back up to 9 cents and now a meat and 4 veggies at City Cafe as of this afternoon was $5.39. What a backwards tax system. I wish some people in Montgomery would take some lessons from some people in georgia and get the tax system at least fair. I'll take whatever heat y'all want to give and we can have this moved to a nonsports thread if you want.
