Just saw on ESPN where the NCAA is looking into some sort of theft. I just caught the last part of it and it had our logo by the caption I stated above. It was Andy Katz doing the reporting. Anybody know anything about this?

His apartment was broken into & he lost several hundred dollars. The NCAA wanted to know how did he have that kind of money on him. Turns out the money was from a pell grant. Everything checked out & was cleared by the NCAA.

Seems like I heard the same thing Bama 3. I heard them mention KW, the theft, pell grant money, and it "checking out". My main question is how do fans from other schools find out about these incidents before we ever do? The details of the Means story seemed like a foregone conclusion to everyone but us. This KW issue was mentioned on the Mississippi State board right after we blew them out. I wrote it off as sour grapes and even some MSU posters called the guy out. How are we always the last to know?

What makes the NCAA think this is their business??? Can't a person have money? Do they track player's financial statements???

As a former Pell Grant recipient, I know that the amount disbursed at any one time can't be more than several hundred dollars. It seems ridiculous that NCAA noses go up when a few hundred bucks pops up. Of course, we are Alabama, so I guess a player picking a nickel up off the street would get them excited.

Well if that is the root of the false ugly rumor that was on the MSU and Gridscape was all about I feel a whole lot better. Sorry to hear Winston lost some money. The false ugly rumor can not be discussed here and any Bama fan would not want to drag that kind of trash to our board. Consider the source.
