The NCAA’s investigation into the pay-for-play scheme that was put in motion by Newton’s father is still ongoing and, despite Newton’s proclamations of knowing nothing of what financial game his dad was working behind the scenes, there is still a chance that the NCAA could dig up something untoward regarding the Auburn quarterback. If that were to be the case, if the NCAA found Cam Newton was ultimately complicit in the scheme or had knowledge of it, he could very well be declared retroactively ineligible and we could have Bush v2.0 on our hands.

So, what do you think? Will Newton continue to keep the Heisman inside a trophy case that by now is bulging at the seams? Or, will he ultimately be stripped of one of the most prestigious individual honors in all of sports.

auburn will be stripped of it's SECC and BCSNC (assuming it wins) but Cammy Cam will get to drink his Cammy Cam Juice reclining by a fire while gazing adoringly upon his Heisman on his mantle. Just one man's opiniion.

I agree with you there. Cam would not be under any obligation to return his heisman trophy but the school would be under a lot of pressure to return theirs.

I keep hearing from people (not on the internet message boards and not Alabama fans) that are saying with the same confidence that you've typed that "WHEN" Auburn gets nailed. These people keep telling me that information is available that will eventually get into the hands of the NCAA that will ultimately lead to Auburn getting HEAVILY sanctioned. And these people keep saying that once information is released to the NCAA the speed of this case being closed will expedite. Do you agree with this?

Reggie Bush was actually not required to turn his back in. He did it of his own accord. Perhaps he was pressured... I don't know. But he could have kept it.
I believe he turned his in before the Heisman trust had decided if he could have kept it or not. Most believed they were going to vote to strip him of it

I do not know Reggie Bush nor his arrest(s) record. I do not know if he had any academic(s) wrong-doings. So just taking a stab at this, but I do not think for one moment that Cam would return HIS GLORY under any circumstances. Yes, I am saying Bush has more integrity than Cam. It would not take much to beat zero.

I kept hearing the same things with UA about Gadsden, but it WAS on message boards, and it WAS Auburn fans.

I'm probably in the minority, but I actually hope nothing comes of the investigation to harm Auburn, the SEC, or Newton. The SEC has had enough black eyes to go around. However, I simply can not believe he knew nothing of his Father's shenanigans.

Don't get me wrong now... I ain't pullin' for 'em to win!!

GO DUCKS!!!

If the NCAA wanted to find out about something around Gadsden they might want to look at an aub grad who could have come into some money and property when he sighned with Aub several years ago
