Possible new b-ball commit..

I said a few weeks ago that once M$U entered the picture that Gordon would be heading there. It's the same old story M$U starts recruiting a guy out of nowhere and next thing you know they decide that would be the best place for them.

Not true, he's been on $tates radar for quite some time. I've been talking to my friend on the inside about him for quite some time and he always thought it would come down to Bama or M$U. I remember us talking about Gordon back around November or December . . .

This almost certainly means Ervin will transfer and/or Ellis will go pro.

Hang tight guys. According to what we've been told we have a commitment coming tomorrow, Weds. No, it's not Gordon...but a good one.

That's right. The late-recruiter for Jamont's services was Florida.

I still do not understand why we are not talking about Laquavius Marbury. He has been posted on Bamamag.com for months, is high on Alabama, but zero buzz about this guy.

We do need another PG. We only have Ronald Steele. The need for PG's is magnified due to RS logging 35+ minutes a game this year. CMG is trying to build depth at that position. Here's the link...link

Nevermind, Terry P. I guess I answered my question.

Check out the Tuscaloosa News article on Coach Early. It might shed some light on this.

Good catch, John.

The late signing period for basketball prospects begins Wednesday. Alabama is expected to add one player in the late period. The Crimson Tide has focused much of its late recruiting attention on the state’s Class 6A Player of the Year, point guard Brandon Hollinger of LeFlore High School in Mobile.

What has Marbury been doing this past year?

I've read a couple of news articles talking about how he was in the MS/AL all-star game last year as a Jr. but he is currently at Laurinburg Institute in North Carolina, a school which has produced several McDonalds All-Americans and a lot of D1 talent. I'm guessing he moved there to improve his game, but I haven't heard anything about him besides his small bio on Rivals.com He scored more points than Sharpe or Steele did in the same all-star game last year.

BBer, RS is the only true PG that is on the roster right now. AW is the only other returning guard and he is a 2, not at PG. Ray George is a combo guard, and he will have a chance to start at the 2 and I would guess be a backup PG. Is Torrance the guard from Mary Montgomery? If so, I think he still has another year of high school. It wouldn't hurt to have Hollinger to sign. We need depth at PG. We were fortunate the RS didn't suffer any injuries last year or else we would have had to play w/out a true PG. CMG obviously wants to have depth at PG so RS won't have to play 35-38 min. a game next year.

It's another look also, Hoot. Quick back court/guard set with both RS and Hollinger, if he's the one we sign.

The closest thing I can make a comparison to...and it really isn't a good one is when we put Brock and Felix in together last season. Size and quickness in our press.
