Practice Saturday

I also attended. KWalker is a freak, he dosent even look like the same guy from last year, much much quicker. Mo is going to be a 1st team all-american, he is shooting the ball lights out. KWinston is the most talented freshman we have ever had, he is just forcing it a little to much. He is very quick with great feet and hands. He knows the game and seems to know where he needs to be to get the ball. Mark my words, Evan Brock is awesome. He was around the rim on every play. He can jump out of the building and I was very impressed with his defensive ability. He needs to gain some weight but he is extremly quick around the basket. I really think he will play quite a bit this year, and he is taller than KWalker. ED looks bigger and stronger. That guy is something else. You can not get position on him for a rebound. It looks as if he tosses the ball off of the backboard if he dosent have a good shot just to get the rebound and put it back. ET needs alot of work, just dosent seem to be in the flow of the game and is not the shooter I thought he was. ES and TM have both improved their shot. Deadly. If those two guys can continue to shoot like this we can win every game. Double down and kick it out. LWilliams is as ripped out as David Robinson. Very good around the basket. All we need him to do is keep playing nasty D and rebound. DSmith still hustles and plays great D. My overall thoughts on this team are as follows -
1. Maybe the best starting five in the country.
2. Maybe the deepest team in the country.
3. The biggest problem might be having to many great players.

It is going to be one hell of a year Tide Fans. Can YOU feel the madness?

actually I believe Chuck Davis will be more of a force than Brock. He outweighs him by 40 ibs. and was recruited to be Dudley's replacement. I had read threads stating that E. Brock would be huge disappointment to us tidefans but that isnt the case after seeing him sat., he looked good.

I still have a feeling that Brock may end up being redshirted. We have so much depth this year and Brock sure sounds like a player who could use a year of growing.

RTR!!!

It would be nice to be able to redshirt one of the freshmen big men. Of course with three more coming in next year who are physically similar to Brock, we could then possibly red shirt one of the newcomers. What is interesting to me about Brock is that he seems to move well enough to play three, which would let us go "tall" if we wanted to.

I too was at practice Saturday, and was very impressed.

It's hard to know who will be red-shirted, but someone will be.

I hope we have the killer instinct and the chemistry that is necessary to go with all that talent.

Now, add in the two very big (6-10 and 6-11) recruits we have lined up for NEXT year, and the future looks bright.

ROLL TIDE FOREVER!

IMO, Joe, Brock is between the 3 and 4. As I'm sure you know, kids at that age can grow leaps and bounds in a single year. And, can never be sure how they will respond to serious, college level, S&C. For that reason, I would not be surprised if Mark redshirted Brock and then make a decision where he is best suited. Just a hunch.

RTR!!!

I must disagree with you Tre about Emmitt Thomas. He seemed to me to be quite a gamer, looked very comfortable in front of a crowd and as for not being a shooter, seems like he hit a 3, i think. I was pleasantly surprised at his performance, just goes to show how 2 people can have totally different views on the same thing. ROLL TIDE!
