Preston Dial and his UMS-Wright squad will battle for the state championship tonight against Deshler. The game is at 7:00 and I believe is televised by UPN.

He was split some there, but he has been lining up at TE for most of the night. Been blocking and running routes.

It sure looks like Preston Dial is going to be good one for Bama.

Braggin' Wrights
UMS-Wright claimed its third Class 4A state championship in the last five years Thursday night as quarterback Michael Scott threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 42-16 win over Deshler at Legion Field.

"Somebody asked me if this was the sweetest one," said UMS-Wright coach Terry Curtis, whose Bulldogs also won state crowns in 2001 and 2002. "You get my age and they're all sweet. You just keep on enjoying them.

"To go 15-0 and beat a great Deshler team with all the tradition they've got, this is just as great as any of them."

Bulldog blitz
A perfectly executed middle screen pass from UMS-Wright junior quarterback Michael Scott to senior tight end Preston Dial did more than score a touchdown Thursday night.

The 40-yard connection with Dial, an Alabama commitment, came with just 25 seconds remaining in the first half and provided the top-ranked Bulldogs with the crowning blow in the 42-16 victory over Deshler at Legion Field.

Dial found himself running behind a wedge of blockers down the middle of the field for the TD and a 21-3 lead and Deshler never recovered.

That was a nicely drawn out play, you hardly ever see a screen thrown to the TE. The throw was high, I thought when Dial jumped up in the air for the ball someone was going to clean his clock. But when he came down with it he had a wall of blockers and Dial himself made a couple of good moves to score. Can't wait to see this guy on the field...RTR.

Anybody know if we are interested in Michael Scott for next year?

Idiot commentators

During the 3rd quarter, one of the genius commentators said Dial was an Auburn commit. I have not been following recruiting much this year, but I had thought I heard his name before linked with Bama. Glad to see that is the case. He is a good looking prospect.

Michael Scott is about 5'8". Horrible arm. No way we go after him.

Also, I know I'll get bashed, but Dial is really overated. Good work ethic, though.
