QB Zach Mettenberger offered by Bama

"It means a lot to have coach [Nick] Saban call me and offer me. They don't offer scrubs and they just won the national title," Mettenberger said. "I had no idea it was coming. But they have depth with quarterbacks like [A.J.] McCarron and [Philip] Ely is coming in. I am not real sure what to think about it."

"Right now it's LSU or A&M. I have narrowed down to two. If someone else comes in I will consider it but right now it's those two schools," he said. "I am doing things differently now. Don't promise me the world. I just want the opportunity.

I was just about to link that article. Mettenberger is down to either LSU or Texas A&M and he is not showing any serious interest in Bama's offer. As I said earliler in this thread, I believe that he will end up at LSU.

I'm thinking most likely LSU at this point. aTm is now playing their 2nd team QB much more and in fact I think he has replaced Johnson as the starter and looks really good.
If Zach wants to play early and with much better talent than aTm, then LSU is the place for him. Their only drawback and it's a big one, is the OC Gary Crowton who has been unable to come up with anything to make the best of their limited QB talent.

Notice how he mentioned McCarron and Ely but not Sims. Hope there isn't anything to that. There are rumors, but I just hope they are just that.
