I also have a St. Christopher medalion I wear around my neck. He helped the Tide convert a lot of 3rd downs against UT.
That dip sounds really tempting, you may have to post the recipe some time on the grillin' board. BTW, those "Heineys" are worth the drive from Cullman to get 'em ain't they?Nothing I need to keep with me, but I must make a certain spicy jalapeno chicken dip or else we lose!
Oh, and plenty of ice cold Heineken to wash it down with....it's foolproof.

As for me, it's more of a ritual than a lucky piece. I have to have all the food ready before the game whether I'm grillin' or picking up some wings from Zaxby's. Of course the beverages are chillin' and I'm in front of the TV well before kick off dressed appropriately in one of my Alabama shirts.
This one is going to get VERY weird as the years go by, lol...First let me say that I'm not superstitious. With that being said---Here we go.
1. I wear the same Alabama Polo to every home game.
2. When I get to the game my wife and I go to the same restroom and I always go in the same door. The one game this year that I did not go through that door we lost (UGA).
3. I always go walking around the concourse of the stadium during halftime.
4. I always go to the restroom during halftime (refer to the process in#2).
5. I always yell "Roll Tide Roll" during the kickoff but I do not shake a shaker or raise my hands. (shakers are bad luck for me--but I am not superstitious)
6. I dip Skoal--If things are going good, I leave that dip in! If things start going bad, I spit it out and leave it out hoping for luck to change. If things do not change I put in a different pinch. Keep in mind I am not superstitious!
7. When at home I never listen to the TV play-by-play. Eli and Snake all the way.
8. When kicking a game winning field goal or extra point my oldest daughter (age 10) must sit in my lap. This started during the Bama vs. Florida game in the Swamp years ago.
9. When at home I will also change seats if things are not going well.
I want to be clear--I am not superstitious!!

Made both of those drives many times. I've only lived in B'ham the past 3 years or so. Grew up in Cullman, CHS class of '87. Go Bearcats! And yes, the drive to Warrior (or Decatur...just depends on my mood) is always worth it. :driving:
We would love to have you Grillin' & Chillin' forumOoohhh...there's a grilling board?? I must explore this site more! I always lurk on the football board but a grilling board seems like a nice place to hang out, too.

One thing is for sure you better have that ball in hand for opening kick-off!!:biggrin:I don't use it for Alabama football, but when the Red Sox was down 3-0 to the Yankees in '04, I found in my closet an XFL football. I started a little ritual of having it in my possession starting with Game 4 all the way to the World Series. Throughout the next 3 years, when things looked bad for them I would grab the old black and red football, and they would have a walk-off homerun or win in dramatic fashion. Well, when they were down 3-1 this year to the Indians, I grab the ol' XFL and rest is history. All together, I'm 19-0 with that football.
Am I weird?
As the patron saint of travelers, St. Christopher should help the road team.I also have a St. Christopher medalion I wear around my neck. He helped the Tide convert a lot of 3rd downs against UT.![]()
