Question to Destin FL. area posters

I am thinking about coming down for vac. this sum. Was there much damage from the storm.

I'm not in Destin, but I grew up in Ft. Walton Beach, & Mom still lives there.

There was quite a bit of damage, but you'll be able to enjoy the greatest beaches on the planet. Mom's seawell damage repair begins Monday morning...yeah, they're all that backed up!

I live in Panama City. Most of the damage was from Fort Walton and westward to Mobile. Pensacola really got hit hard. So did Mobile. Destin and Panama City didn't get quite as much damage.

I've driven to P'cola a few times to visit family, and you can still see some damage as you go through Destin, but it is being repaired.

Destin would be a nice place to stay, but so is PC. If you are interested in Panama City, try Holiday Inn on the Gulf or Edgewater Beach Resort. Both are nice places. There are many others for that matter.

Navarre Beach also got killed!

Almost all of the condo's there have been closed and I have not seen a time frame for their reopening. I would guess they're busting their butts to get them back open by sometime in May.
