Eddie Lacy will be a RS Fr., Trent Richardson a So., and Mark Ingram a Jr. That is stacked no matter how you look at it. I am confident Bama will get a top quality RB in the 2011 class but the depth will make some of the RB prospects look elsewhere. Especially the RBs that want guaranteed playing time.
Not referring to the 2010 season. referring to the 2011 or 2012 season. these recruits won't get on campus til 2011 season.

Not downing this young man but wondering what in the world would possess a kid to play for UGA these days, other than playing time.
In-state school; close to home for family; easier opportunity to start; winning program (not as good as Bama is currently). I would love to get Crowell and in all honesty, he and Cyrus K. are the two prospects I want us to sign the most, but we won't get all the studs we recruit. It's not like he's going to pick AU or Tenn and we can probably still land a good back or two if we don't get him.

I still feel good about Crowell. But UGA is selling him on the line that "he will sit the bench at Bama, and that we don't need him and will win without him." Which in fairness, is true. We have several big time RB's looking at us and we WILL sign one of them. Crowell is the #1 RB on our board but he is likely the #1 PLAYER on UGA's board. UGA is banking on being able to sell Isaiah that he is their #1 priority and he will be a instate hero and savior of the program if he picks UGA. That is a tough argument to fight but at the same time we are the top program in the country and focus our offense on our run game and we have Menzie and Wright singing our praises. It will be a battle but I feel good about our chances.

I refer to the bolded portion above. We're going to get an elite back. Personally, I think Savon Huggins is just as good and fits our RB mold... runs alot like MI. I'm still hoping we land Crowell though... time will tell, but to go back to what ABT said - We're going to land an elite back, its just a matter of who.

I like Huggins as well. One to really watch is Buck Allen. If he performs well this season his stock will blow up. His recruitment has been quiet but before he got injured he was a big time playmaker. I think he has all the tools to be a good one.

Sorry CS, but I simply disagree. Any of the prospects out there know that Trent Richardson was a stud as a freshman and if they are elite, they'll have an opportunity to shine just as he did. Just my opinion. I think it really comes down to having to pull an elite back out of someone elses backyard.

ON THE OTHER HAND... if Eddie Lacy shows streaks of greatness this year, all of what I said above could be worthless. And if Lacy does show that greatness, then I'm not as worried about how recruiting goes.
There is no problem with different opinions on Tide Fans. Obviously we all have different takes on things. I want to be clear, I am not saying that Bama will not land Crowell. I am just stating the obvious that UGA is definitely in the picture and coming on strong. I want Crowell bad, he is my top choice for a RB in this class.

The Bama RB situation is much different than in 2009 when Trent Richardson signed. No one predicted then that Mark Ingram would play well enough to win the Heisman, especially sharing time with Richardson as he did. Now not only does Bama have Ingram and Richardson they have a proven RS Eddie Lacy who some think is going to be as good as Richardson which is saying something.

Any RB that comes to Bama in this class will be looking at sharing time in the backfileld with those 3 RBs and most likely will be looking at a RS freshman year. That is unless they light the field on fire when they get to Bama. This situation is a good one for Bama to be in but it will make some of the top RBs think hard about coming to Bama. Hopefully Bama will be the right place and the right time for Crowell.

I would just tell Isaiah you can come to Bama or you can go to UGA and watch the RB we had to "settle" for win the Heisman.

I would hope that Allen is a silent commitment. He has made no bones about how he feels about Alabama from the get go--we are his first choice and it isn't even close. He is a must get, IMO. But I don't think that if he commits it will have any bearing on Crowell (or another top RB) coming on board. From my understanding, and I could be wrong, Allen is being recruited as an athlete so he could play, RB, LB or even SS. That is important because if we miss on Crowell, Brown, Huggins, etc, Buck will be this class's RB. But if we land one of those guys, Buck can switch to defense. Love versatile players like him.

No doubt Buck can play several positions. I think he would make a helluva safety as well. My biggest thing is I want to see how well Buck plays this season so we can judge his recovery. But I do believe there is a good chance we will take both. Everything points to Buck signing with Bama if we will accept his commitment.

I think K.C. Nlemchi would be a great addition if Cromwell bails. Nlemchi is 6'1" at 195 lbs. Have him redshirt and add 15-20 lbs and he would be a bruiser.

Bet hey, just my 2 cents as I'm biased to the kid since my kids will go to Cinco Ranch. Yes, my son may be the starting center/nose guard of the freshman team too if all goes well.

Actually Crowell and D Hart would be a nice combo for this class. H Clinton-Dix still believes that Hart will come here and even after his visit to UM he did not commit. According to Hart he will camp here in June and after camp will make his decision. Something else that might help is what penalties UM self imposes when they are announced on May 24th and if the NCAA will take further action on them.

While Nlemchi is a fine looking back. Right now we have a few guys higher than him. But things could change. He's one to keep an eye on.

Pretty good chance Ingram will be headed to the NFL and Richardson just one season away from that by the time Crowell arrives at UA.

I just read on an Auburn board that D Hart will attend Big Cat weekend and annouce his school afterward. If H Clinto-Dix is right and Hart is planning on camping at UA in June and that if Hart plays FB in AL it would only be a UA I really like our chances with Hart.

I think Hart will be a part of Alabama's 2011 class. Clinton-Dix is pushing him hard to come to Tuscaloosa with him.
