My issue with Bone is of late. Try reporting the facts once you have them and not before to get people to listen. I understand there are so many sites and writers trying to vie for the fans but credibility goes along way, not pushing out propaganda hoping it will become the truth. He is not the only one doing this either.

Re: 5* RB/LB James Wilder has eliminated Bama from consideration

Here is the latest info about Wilder's favorites and Bama is not included. I am removing him from the prospect list.

James Wilder down to three as decision day approaches | Home Team | Tampabay.com
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Wilder, ranked the No. 3 overall recruit in the nation by Rivals.com and the No. 1 prospect by MaxPreps, said he still hasn’t made up his mind, but that he is down to three schools – Florida, Florida State and Georgia.

I’ve slept on it a lot,” Wilder said. “Today I’ll have FSU in the lead, tomorrow I’ll have UF and in three days I’ll have Georgia. I just have to make sure I think a lot about it. I’ve still got a lot of thinking to do in the last seven days.”

Wilder said he’s eliminated Alabama from consideration, even though Plant teammate Phillip Ely, the Panthers’ 19-0 starting quarterback, committed to the Crimson Tide on Wednesday. Alabama made Ely an offer secretly three weeks ago.

“I was pretty shocked about that,” Wilder said. “They were one of my top schools. I’ve already called (Alabama) and told them I have my top three.

Sucks about Wilder, but not surprising. I wish he would reconsider playing LBer, but if his heart is set on playing RB, then there is nothing Bama can do. I wish James nothing but this best, outside of playing against Bama.

Seems like he changes his top 3 frequently. The other day it included Bama & no FSU. Guess we'll know once he announces, or maybe after.
Good luck to him either way.

That sounds pretty definitive, but...you just never know. If Ely was keeping his on the down low, maybe Wilder is on the down low also. I don't put anything past this coaching staff.

That being said, I've said gator and I continue to say gator.

Trying not to read into anything but he did say he wished that Ely would have told him because he was considering us at one time. Anyhow I actually pulling for UGA in this battle. Because like others I do believe he will end up at LB and if he commits to UGA it will only be because UGA told him he would be used only as a RB in college and I think that will eliminate UGA with Crowell. I would not be surprised to see IC commit soon after that if Wilder picked UGA. Still think UF in the end for Wilder though but I can wish.

Sorry we've been eliminated, but glad to see Andrew got it right. He's not perfect, but he talks to a lot of folks.

Bama is very loaded at running back and I am not just speaking about Ingram and Richardson but some of the younger talent.

:BigA:I am not for sure who is the best back at Alabama Richardson or Ingram, but I feel very confident that which ever one is second, that they would be the number one back at any other school in the conference with the possibilty that Lacy or Goode might even be the top back at any other school in the conference! Oh what a luxury!

I like your thinking here... that hadn't crossed my mind but mostly because UGA hasn't been hyped too much in his recruitment. I doubt he leaves FL, but we'll see...

Saw today that James announced at the press conference for Ely that he was down to 3 teams, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. I would still be utterly shocked if he went anywhere but Florida but I suppose we will all know in about a week.

Yes, he did say that yesterday. I was at Plant yesterday, but everyone seems to like to take Rivals' and Scouts' word over the player's. Yes, James has changed many times and there is a reason for that. He is torn right now....and Bama is still on his list.....Just sayin'

Not to mention Wilder (if we were recruiting him at RB) is almost certainly behind Malcolm Brown and Isaiah Crowell (at the least) on our board. I've felt all along that he was a Gator lock, and still do.

I am going to add Wilder back onto the prospect list. It appears that Bama is back in the running for Wilder from several sources.

ESPN's Insider is now saying that Wilder is down to Florida, Georgia and Bama. That news is also confirmed by two Tide Fans members who also heard Wilder say the same thing after Ely's announcement.

It may be the case that since Wilder's teammate and close friend Ely has committed to Bama that it could convince him to also pick Bama. With the fact that Ely kept his decision secret until his announcement, maybe Wilder will do the same and pick Bama for the big surprise. Wilder has said that he wished that he had known that Ely was going to commit to Bama. Apparently Ely kept his decision so secret that even Wilder did not know. This situation will certainly make Wilder's commitment announcement on Aug. 18th more exciting for us Tide fans.

There are a lot of folks saying that he will pick either UF or FSU. I hope they are wrong and he picks Bama.

The interview below was done the day of Ely's Bama commitment but just before the Ely announcement. In the interview he said it was down to either UF, FSU, or UGA. Wilder says in the interview that he is very undecided and that he flip-flops back and forth on which school is his favorite.

Thanks for that first hand report derek4tide. What you and mjstide heard Wilder say, along with the ESPN Insider college football rumors report that Wilder is down to UF, UGA, and Bama, is some very good news. I added Wilder back onto the prospect list.
