Now I know the D loses a ton of leadership and talent after this season. The offense looks to be great nxt yr but the D will have to answer all the critics for 2010. Now...coming from a player like Reamer this statement makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Reamer is one of the players I will miss for sure. He wasn't some national top prospect but he has worked his tail off and become a very dependable, very disciplined player and I wish him all the luck in any path he chooses after the season is over.

“There’s a few that will probably fit that mold,” Reamer said. “We’ve got a lot of good players that are still young. With Dont’a coming back next year, he’s probably going to be the head guy. You’re probably going to be surprised by a few of these guys that get some playing time next year.”

The defense likely will have more questions than the offense going into the season, but there's little doubt in my mind that the talent will be there to field another exceptional squad.

It appears Reamer thinks this is Ro's last year.

I wasn't holding out any hope he would be back next year. Really since his freshman year I thought he would only be at Alabama for three years.

Personally, I don't see any surprise at all. Many of the second stringers are already getting significant playing time as we now have the depth to rotate guys in, especially the D-line. .

The thing that excites me most is the fact that the media will say we are losing our entire d-line and therefore cannot be as good as we are this year. Ha! They will have forgotten what we did with the o-line this yr. I LOVE IT WHEN THE MEDIA UNDERESTIMATES US!! It causes some of the teams to do the same thing-I would rather be underated than overated (like ND!).

Reload, baby, reload! :biggrin2:

The only thing the defense is losing is experience, which of course will hurt. I expect some big plays against us early on in the season as a matter of fact. But the talent and athleticsm will actually be improved if anything. A LB corp of Stinson, Nico, Hightower, Jordan, Harris, and Patrick will be fast and deadly. And that doesn't even began to account for guys like Petey Smith and Atchison from last year's class and Alfy and CJ from this year! Maybe the only worry spot is CB and you are talking about a spot with Kirkpatrick, Phelon Jones, and BJ Scott getting hands on instruction from Coach Saban. Yeah I think we will be able to field a decent defense next year. Maybe not as stout in the beginning but by November they will be hitting anything that moves!

With Hightower back, I think we'll be able to shutdown the running game again. I just hope our secondary can step up like they have this year.
