Time to start a new thread, the other one was getting mighty full.

To sum up a few hot topics:

Tim Tebow will be here this weekend on an official visit. Still looks like a UA/UF battle despite his visits elsewhere. Could announce before Christmas, as he wants to help his team recruit.

Jarred Fayson- "the next Prothro." As all the tools and is a slightly taller version of Pro. Would like to play with Tebow. Will visit for LSU, Utah St, or after season. About 5 teams in mix.

Jamar Hornsby- Free safety/ Wide receiver who would also like to play with Tebow and Fayson. Has put the Tide on his list recently, much like Fayson. Will visit for LSU, Utah St, or after season. About 5 teams in mix.

Toryan Smith- the Tide is still in it after trip to ND. Will visit this weekend, unofficially. Top MLB on our board. Will make a decision soon.

Derrick Odom- got his official Tide offer and is a physical specimen. Would be a huge OLB pick up. About 5 teams in running.

AJ Jones- will try to make up official sometime soon. As much as a surprise Hutchins' commitment was, Jones and he are very similar in physical makeup and athleticism. About 4 teams left.

Tim Tebow--I am starting to feel real good about Tebow to Bama! I have heard some Florida folks now say he is a Bama lean and thats surprising to me!

Toryan Smith--I really think he is still a Bama lean. But he really like the ND visit but I think this kid wants to play in the SEC. He also has Florida on his list but I think its between ND/Bama. I like are chances with him!

Hornsby/Fayson--I think they are longshots at best! It wouldn't hurt with a commitment from Tebow!

I actually like our chances with Fayson. Can't get a real read on Hornsby yet.

Has Tebow given a date?

I thought I heard on the radio this a.m. that TT was set to announce on ESPN Dec 14 and that he was going to enroll in Jan. Did I totally misundertand both of those statements? Is it just a dumb rumor? Just curious if anyone else had heard that.

Rivals new team rankings are out, and Bama is up to #6 in the nation. Top 10 as of now:

1. Texas
2. UGA
3. Notre Dame
4. LSU
5. FSU
6. Alabama
7. Auburn
8. UCLA
9. Oklahoma
10. Florida

FWIW, Texas and UGA are essentially done with their recruiting classes, already having secured 24 verbals each. We jumped from 12th last week despite not getting a commit because the 'star' rankings were assigned to JUCOs and Preps this week, and with Holifield (3*), Stover(4*), and Ford (5*), we were able to make a significant jump.

I read the same thing somewhere on TideSports. Don't have the link.

Tim Tebow and his parents will make an official visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend for the Bama/UT game. Tebow has said recently that he is more than impressed with Bama's performance so far this year. His current list of favorites are Alabama, Florida, FSU, LSU, Miami, Michigan, and USC. He is being very tight lipped if he is leaning to any particular favorite from his list.

Tebow named US Army All-American
Five star QB, Tim Tebow of St. Augustine, FL Nease HS was named to the 2006 US Army All-American team and will appear in the annual US Army/Scout.com All-American game in San Antonio, TX.

While many observers have expected that Tebow will announce what school he will attend while at the Army All-American game he plans otherwise. “No, sir I think I’m going to do it a little before that. Hopefully, I will try to help recruit a little bit for the school I choose to go to. At this point it’s kind of in the Lord’s hands. We’re trying to find out just where He wants me. Obviously, the big question right now is what is that school?”

CB Jordan Pugh/Fran - phony

Just a thought ... Could Pugh stab Fran - phony in the back and wind up in T-Town ? I was lead to believe he has family ties to BAMA ... ?

I dont think there are many schools that have a "good Christian atmosphere". If that his deciding factor then he might as decline all his scholorship offers. Also just because one person makes a bad decision does not mean that the team as a whole makes those kind of decisions. Take us for example, just because Fred Rouse has a bad attitude do you think that it is going to stop other top recruits from coming to FSU, highly doubt it. With your guys tradition and the way you have been playing this year, i dont think one little incident is going to deter anyone.. Just my .02

One of the reasons I am at the University is because I felt like I could grow spiritually as a part of a college ministry. I mean you can find what you want at the University of Alabama but that doesnt exclude being a good moral person that wants to grow spiritually. I chose to go to the University for 3 reasons: School, football, and the church I go to. And I'm from Atlanta where I couldve gone to school for free. Just because JPW made a mistake, doesnt mean he isnt a good person. I mean it doesnt help him either. But we have lots of good kids on the football team and I would say most are pretty good role models. I mean King david killed a guy bc he wanted the guy's wife and God forgave him. DUI doesnt sound so bad does it? I know Jpw is sorry. And Tim tebow will make the best choice for him but I know Alabama was the BEST choice i made! Roll Tide!!!! Tennessee week still hasnt completely set in. It prolly wont till phat phil and that coon dog stumble out that gate and we all boo!

with the roll we're on in recruiting, i can't help but think that these incidences are going to be used against us by rival schools. i don't think it will have much impact, but i'm sure anything they can do to slow us down will be done.

Success begets more success. Players want to play for good teams. If a prospect decides he doesn't want to go to Bama because he doesn't like the competition then he is a player we don't really need.
