Refs wanted WV to win soooo bad....

I am not one for conspiracies....But, did you guys notice how bad the calls were going for Pitt?

#1 Holding call on the WR...I mean...looked to me that was a solid block by the WR. It nullified a TD that would have made the score 17-7 which could have put WV in serious jeopardy.

#2 Holding call on the WR...This one came with about 3 minutes to go after a first down run. Again...Pitt isn't penalized then they can run off big chunks of clock....

#3 Pass Inference right after Holding call #2...They defensive back grabbed the wide receiver’s jersey...that was crazy...they call these holds and they miss a jersey tug...Come on!!!

#4 Unsportsmanlike contact after stopping WV. Ok, Pitt celebrated like it was the best win in 10 years...Wait...best win in 10 years they might be a little excited...but I didn't see anything but just an outpouring of positive emotion....

I have seen a lot of football...and I really thought the Big East Refs were trying to help WV to the BCS NC....

LOL, I didn't even watch the whole game entirely...and I saw those 4 points....Of course, it will go under the radar because...Pitt overcame the refs.

I agree, the 4 things you mentioned were all HORRIBLE; but as you said Pitt overcame it all and spanked their booty. So boo to the refs and yea for the Panthers.

both flags for the holding calls came in at the end of the play and were not even thrown by the official nearest to the play.

Exactly. I was watching the calls and thinking to myself, the Big East wants WVU in the BCS title game badly.

I was thinking the same thing. At one point I was wondering just how far they would go. That hold the took back the TD was a total phantom call. The second hold looked pretty bad and then the WVU defender was holding the very same WR that got the 2 holds right in front of the ref and NOTHING. And yet WVU still didn't win. I have a lot of respect for WVU but they always blow it in the end.

It's funny how everyone saw it this way. I watched the game without any real interest in the outcome. When call after call was suspect, I started thinking there was some sort of bias going on. And I have never before been one to call into suspect, any referees integrity...even in the SEC.

I thought it was horrendous also. Now this is coming from someone that doesn't complain about officiating and I tell my team that we don't worry about those things, but worry about the things that we need to do to win.

Then again, maybe Pitt illustrated my point, because they responded each time by playing sound, fundamental football (Almost said Basketball!) each time they got the shaft! To me the players were very disciplined and well coached in their response.

CDW is probably the best 5 - 7 coach out there!
