will a freed up scholarship have to go to a deserving walkon? Or did Bama just add another to its number of 2006 scholarships? I believe Bama had 23 scholarships to offer for 2006, so is it now 24, or is a walkon getting this one?

Good question. I say give it to a Kyle Bennett, or a Trent Dean, etc...

there may be more attrition so it's hard to say if a walk-on will get a scholarship or not. I think more attention will be paid to the walk-ons, such as Matt Collins, who may be in a position to regularly contribute after the spring.

Right now, I'd say that gives us an extra scholarship for this recruiting class.

Oops. I was thinking Collins was had already earned a scholly. So what walk-ons do we have that have somewhat contributed, and therefore might be looked at for getting a scholly by the coaches. Matt Collins is one. Jamie Christensen? Thoughts?

It looks like Leigh Tiffin will walk-on with the promise of a scholarship if/when he wins the job.

Andrew Friedman and PJ Fitzgerald will both be competing for the kicker and punter jobs respectively after redshirting and would be candidates for earning a scholarship.

because we were only expected to bring in 23 this year, so now it should be 24 and we'll still be at 85.
