Looking at our remaining three games, what do guys think the record will be. As much as I hate to admit, I see us going 1-2. I think Miss State will give us a game for a half, then things should go our way in the second and we SHOULD win easily. The LSU game could go either way. If we still had Prothro, I would say win. But since his injury we've been far less productive. I see LSU pulling it out in the fourth or even in OT. This will be the toughest team we've faced so far this year. And last, Auburn. I don't see us winning this one in auburn. The thought of AU beating us 4 years in a row is almost too much to stomach, but AU is peaking at the right time and with ULL this week and a flat UGA team next week, they could easily be 8-2 in the Iron Bowl. Does 1989 ring a bell??? Well, there's my $.02 worth. What does everyone think???

I really think it all depends on how the ball bounces. We must take advantage of the breaks that come our way. If we take care of all areas of the game we should be ok. These guys aren't done yet. I sense the team is on a mission and refuse to give up. Why not go 13-0, they deserve it. RTR

Opinions, huh

Well I guess you can have your opinion, but LSU has yet to really impress me. Both their offense and defense have been like a rollercoaster, and their secondary is terrible Brodie, Zeke, Hall, and Brown will tear them apart just making room for darby to run enough to keep them honest. Their defensive front may be talented but is not near the Tenn. line and in my opinion isn't as good as either Florida's or Ole Miss's defensive line. The two things I believe we have to do is keep Green in check on returns and don't let Russell get out of the pocket and run around to create chaos to complete passes. If we do those two things we walk through this one with a 14 point win and a 10-0 record going into Auburn.

Auburn is a different animal, while I believe we will beat them this will be the toughest test of the season (including SEC Championship), simply becase it is the Iron Bowl. They are improving, but they have yet to beat a quality team, the only one with a winning record was S.C. I believe we out gun them everywhere, offense, defense, and special teams. I do however forsee a 10 point win on our way to 11-0.

Auburn bothers me more than LSU. I have watched some of AU's games and they move the ball pretty good up and down the field. Plus, this kicker should do better from now on.
They throw alot of sideline and screen passes. Those are hard to defend.

Their o-line is getting better. Same goes for their defense.

miss state a sure thing. lsu, everyones media pick. not so fast, my friends. they wilted under the pressure of tenn, and auburn beat them all over the field, but missed 5 field goals. their qb, is erratic, and will make mistakes if rushed. my concern with him is we are vulnerable when the qb rolls out. i believe their defense has the depth to stay with the tide in the second half. if brodie gets off line protection we will win at home. auburn is tough to figure. it all depends, on whether their receivers can hold on to the ball. being 2 of them were recruited by alabama they will be ready to play. they have a good offensive line, the good news is cox does not throw well outside the pocket. we can win this game if christensen can make the field goals. turnovers will be the key on the road.

There is absolutely NO WAY we lose to Auburn this year given the senior leadership I've seen and their desire to not go 0-fer against TSDTR. No way. we win...big.

LSU may be a different story, although I think it will be similar to the UF game IF the crowd comes to "play" the way they did at that game. With DJ Hall stepping up as the "go to" guy for Brodie, we could pull a stunner there as well, IF THE CROWD STAYS IN THE GAME!

Everybody

I talk with says the LSU game is the one with the most potential for danger
They have looked like a Chinese fire drill at times and at other times a pretty good team. Russell is unpredictable and seems to have trouble reading complicated defensive stunts and the speed of our defense is bound to give him trouble- He likes that pocket at times and at other times likes to run- WE are at home-the crowd has awoken from a 100 year sleep and CMS seems to be in a zone. Coach K is unflapable-steady as a rock, proud as a new papa with that lightning fast bunch he unleashes on offensive lines. The whole mental attitude of the team is amazing and the down the stretch run that will be important. The knot in my stomach will start to grow after MSU. RTR

LSU's secondary had bad games against ASU and UT. However, even after all the yards given up against ASU in the air, LSU is fifth in the nation against the pass. A lot of those first two games can be chalked up to the hurricanes, new coaches, and new schemes. Nobody has picked or torn LSU apart since the 2nd Half of UT. Your secondary can't be "terrible" when it is statistically Fifth in the nation after giving up as many yards as they did in the ASU game.

Passing/Running

I believe that LSU can count on a very balanced attack from Bama. Kenneth Darby will be key. If he and keith Brown get loose, watch out! As good as LSU may be in their secondary, Bama can spread out an attack like it did against Florida and leave people standing in their sox wondering what went by them.
LSU can't go man on Bama-if they do its over in the first half. The QB's in this match up are so different, a cool under fire Field General in Brodie and a loose
cannon in Russell. Breaks will be key-LSU fumbles a lot and had to get it done in over time in Baton Rouge against Auburn -not exactly stuff to write home about. It will be the game of the week maybe of the year in the SEC and who would have thought it would be Bama in the driver's seat in the WEst and hoping for a SEC championship?

LSU is 42nd in the nation in pass defense, IMO AU did a good job of passing on you guys.. As long as the OL can give Brodie time i dont see you guys being able to shut him down..

I see us going 2-1 (and very possible 3-0!).

State will put up a fight, but they don't have the guns.

Heck, we should've beat LSU last year with Spencer Pennigton at QB. I think we're going to spank them at BDS.

Auburn will be a fight . . . one of those emotional games that can go either way. I'd like to think that our senior leadership will carry the day.

STATE: We will win this game, probably by 2 TD's.

LSU: Personally, I think we can shut LSU down with our Defense. If we can hold UT and Florida to less than a TD, we can do the same to LSU. JaMarcus hasn't shown me anything that would lead me to believe that he can hurt us with the pass and although their running game is good we should be able to control it.

Once again, I think it will come down to our OL and turnovers. If we can give Brodie time, he can pick apart a Secondary, but expect LSU to blitz at will, especially since Utah State did it with success. We can not be careless in this game because giving LSU a short field on a botched punt or fumble will kill us.

We will win by 2 FG's.

AUBURN : Game of the season for both teams if we both win the next 2 games. Auburn is peaking. This is shaping up to be one of the best Iron Bowls that I can remember in a long time because for once it will have national implications for both teams. I think you can logicaly throw all matchups out the door in this game because there will be players playing way over their regular game for this one.

We will win by FG in the last minute.

my thoughts....

MSU should be a given. Bama wins by at least 10.

LSU is too erratic. They still make too many mistakes. Their tacking in the AU game was really bad. Tubby said Ole Miss' front 7 was way better than LSU's. Bama beats LSU by at least 7.

AU only beat us by 8 last year and that was with 3 first round NFL draft picks. I'll give AU 3 points for home field advantage, and yes they may be able to move the ball, but our red zone D is great, and their kicker is suspect. BC is a senior and is playing cool and focused. Bama beats AU by at least 5.

Bama plays GA in SECCG, as GA beats AU by at least 3. Bama and GA put on a classic display of SEC football with Bama winning by at least 4.

Bama faces WV in sugar bowl, as USC and Tex win out and go to Rose Bowl. Bama beats WV by at least 10.

Sorry, you are right. LSU if 5th in Pass Efficiency Defense, 42nd in overall pass defense. My mistake. Auburn did have some success throwing the football at times in the game. My main point was that the LSU pass defense that everyone saw the first two games is not the same LSU pass defense that is out there now. They have tightened down a lot. LSU's secondary, while it may have been terrible after two games, has matured a lot and is not terrible any more. Thanks for correcting me.

I think we beat msu, not by a wide margin but we beat them...I think we beat LSU, they are just too sloppy and their qb throws the ball up for grabs under pressure...I see the barn as the toughest game...I think it will be low scoring with both teams in the teens...if you look at this game the last 40+ years the highest rated team wins most of the time...that will be Bama and so we should win this game...close but we win...

Since the UT game, LSU has played Miss. St, Vandy, Florida, Auburn, and North Texas. MSU doesn't have much of a passing attack, Cutler was cold as a dead fish, Chris Leak was only 11-30 (still smarting from the spanking at BDS), and Brandon Cox was 16-40 because his receivers dropped probably 15 passes. That moves LSU statistically UP to 42nd in pass defense. 5th in pass efficiency can be deceiving because dropped balls by receivers also improves that category.

LSU will pressure BC with the blitz, but I'm betting he burns 'em more than once. The coaches had a pretty good game plan for UF, I expect they'll be ready for LSU.

PLEASE make sure you know what you're talking about before you post something like this. This link http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?div=4&rpt=IA_teampassdef&site=org will take care of your 5th in the nation theory. I don't want to hear any of that PASSING EFFICIENCY nonsense, PASS DEFENSE is the key factor.

Giving up an average of 203 yds/gm in the air translates to UA throwing for 225 & 2 touchdowns. They are 8th in rush defense, but if you throw successfully early, the RUN game opens up & #34 goes for 110 & 1 touchdown.

27-17 BAMA

As far as MSU is concerned, we win & look impressive doing it.

THE BARN. That is a different story. I hate having to go to cow pasture land & play them. The game is going to depend on the little things-field position, time of possession, turnovers, etc. I think we win a close one 20-17. Vaughn misses a field goal, DOINK, as time expires.

11-0

LSU has one loss in overtime to a ranked team in a postponed game under trying personal conditions during the hurricane recovery. It is a mistake to judge the team Bama will face next week by the team that played Tennessee.

Bamar said:

That's what loses football games, all right. LSU also dropped two touchdown passes. If Auburn had "beat LSU all over the field", they would have won.

LSU has been ahead in every game this year, but has not yet developed the killer instinct to put an opponent away. They let teams stay in the game, and it bit them with Tennessee. This LSU team is carrying a loss into the game, but it also beat two ranked opponents, has three road wins, and still has room to improve. Don't write them off just yet, amigo.

LSU can certainly fumble and penalize their way into a loss. But if LSU ever hits the mid-season stride, . . . Bama is going to have its hands full. Perhaps with Auburn, too. They are playing serious football at the Barn these days.

Last summer I picked LSU for 9-2 this year. If LSU takes a second loss it will have to be the Bama game on the road. But I feel pretty good about this team. LSU by 10.
