Retroactive Plus-1 scenarios, per Dennis Dodd

Stupid trolls are stupid.

I cannot believe Dennis Dodd works for CBSSPORTS, I figure he was writing blogs for bleacherreport.

Dennis Dodd doesn't know jack about football. He is a professional troll, one that barely makes Cowherd/Bayless sounds downright intelligent.

That's true, but Craig was responding primarily to the language used by Brad, which suggested Colt must have played about half the game. The statement "we gift wrapped opportunities" to McCoy suggests a bunch of stuff, and Colt was only in for five plays IIRC.

Yeah, I got a little carried away there. I knew McCoy went out early but I "mis-remembered" (now that I've hit 40, that happens a lot) that he was in for two series, the first being after the ill-fated fake punt and the second being the drive after the ensuing kick-off was fumbled. Regardless, there isn't much evidence to support Dodd's claim that Texas would have won if McCoy stayed healthy. IIRC, you pointed out that Ingram and Richardson both went over 100 yards in that game. Besides, if Colt hadn't been a one-run pony, perhaps the score at halftime is 17-10 or 17-14, rather than 24-6, and we don't come out flat in the second half.

Colt didn't trip over a squirrel and hurt his shoulder running onto the field from the dressing room to start the game. THAT would be a reason to say "what if"?

Colt got his butt knocked into oblivion by a future 3rd overall selection in the NFL Draft. That's called, getting your uhhhh, "Donkey" whupped. :)

Dodd is basically saying, "If Mike Tyson had not of knocked Michael Spinks out and through the ropes in the first round there's no way he would have won the fight".

Someone give the man an idiot pill.

I'm not gonna read the article.

Brad,

We got your basic point, but we're not Texas fans you know, so we want to, uh, be FACTUAL. No disrespect intended, and we made that game closer in that flat third qtr.

It's like saying that if Lincoln hadn't been shot then the play would have turned out differently.

That Jack wagon actually called us "Bammers" in the article...

I now have another sportswriter who's gruel I know to avoid at all cost. I'm throwing Dennis Dodd on the pile.
