Rove resigns

Does this mean that you think that Rove planned the war with Iraq? IMO, if that war had not taken place, GWB would be one of the most highly regarded presidents in recent history. Yes, he made other mistakes, but Iraq is his millstone, not Rove's..

nope. i was saying back in 99-00 that his strategy of firing up the fundamental christian base against [bogeyman du jour] would come back and bite the party at some point because they would start marginalizing independents and non-social conservative republicans

jmho is that without 9-11 bush would have been a forgotten one-termer like his dad. rove (possibly through bush's direction, but i don't think so) played (and still play) the "fear the islamofacist card" and for some reason 52% of the country was stupid enough to fall for it.

LOL - and more than 52% still agree that islamofascists are to be feared. Most Americans believe in God. Appealing to that base belief is never a bad plan...

first, the term islamofacist is a boogey man term cooked up by talk radio. it is meaningless.

using your logic, is appealing to a base belief in allah a bad plan?;)

BS - almost every armed conflict in the world involves these freaks - but keep believing that they are not really a threat.

No, but Islam is an evil religion that preaches hate. If you want to believe in any God, that is up to you. If you want to follow a religion of hate, you deserve to be singled out as a threat...

the term is what is bs. it is an over simplified generalization that is designed to appeal to shortened attention spans :p

What should they be called? Simply calling them terrorists doesn't adequately describe them in their totality. There are many terrorist groups out there. These are Islamic fundamentalists intent on forcing the rest of the world to live under Islamic law. Islamic law is, by and large, fascist. Hence the term...

Where we are always committed to deliver our top of the line drink products to those who are feeling low and need that extra boost, to replenish their system, and refuel their hating capabilities.

Actually, I think it's the Democratic Party that will be paying the price for their concentrated hate-mongering of everything republican or conservative for many years to come.
You may not realize it, but America IS watching, and IS paying attention.

I hope you're right! I know I'm watching and paying attention.

and mr. rove had his secret numbers showing that back in oct. 06. i occasionally flip over to the am dial for a laugh and hear this same sort of confidence, it must be good for ratings.

We're arguing about conservative/liberal or democrat/republican issues not realizing that the two are one and the same, different perceptions of the same animal. Rove is merely a product of the system. With no crises of conscience he could have helped a democrat get elected using a different set of issues and demonizations.

Exactly. Social Security reform comes to mind...

Yep. Both parties are out to increase the power of the state.
